A Look at Miami (Ohio)...
Miami (Ohio) enters Friday's match with the most wins in the nation with a 20-2-1 overall record and is coming off a win over 20th-ranked Tennessee, 3-2, in overtime in the NCAA first round. The RedHawks are averaging 2.57 goals a contest and have been led by Jess Kodiak (12 goals) and Kelsey Dinges (11 goals). Miami (Ohio) defeated Central Michigan to win the Mid-American Conference Tournament championship to gain an automatic bid into the NCAAs.

Duke and Miami (Ohio) will meet for the first time in school history.
Back In Action...
Duke will hit the field for only the third time over the last 26 days. The Blue Devils played on Oct. 28 at Wake Forest and dropped a 1-0 overtime decision and before winning their first round NCAA Tournament match on Saturday, Nov. 10 against Loyola (Md.)
Campbell Named Finalist of Senior CLASS Award...
Tara Campbell has been named one of 10 finalists for the Senior CLASS Award, which is presented to a senior student-athlete and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence - community, classroom, character and competition.
Fans can go online at www.seniorclassaward.com to vote once per day for Campbell through Nov. 19.
Campbell, a native of Cincinnati, Ohio, is one of the top goalkeepers in the nation owning 30 shutouts and 0.91 goals against average over her career. The 5-8 Campbell is only four shutouts away from the Duke career record of 34 held by Melissa Carr and is currently second all-time in goals-against average.
Duke in the NCAA Tournament...
By earning a No. 3 seed and at-large berth into the NCAA Tournament, the Blue Devils reached the big show for the 10th straight season and the 19th time in school history. Duke has won at least one contest in the tournament in 10 out of the last 11 years.
The Blue Devils hold an overall record of 27-18 in tournament play and advanced to the NCAA Championship match a season ago before falling to Stanford, 1-0.
Duke is four years removed from back-to-back NCAA Elite Eight appearances (2007 and 2008). In 2008, the Blue Devils lost to No. 2 UCLA in the Elite Eight.
The 10 straight NCAA Tournament appearances for Duke ranks tied for 12th overall -- UNC (31), Notre Dame (20), Virginia (19), Penn State (18), Texas A&M (18), Wake Forest (17), UCLA (16), Stanford (15), Florida State (13), Portland (13), West Virginia (13), Boston College (10), Duke (10), Florida (10).

Sisters at the Same Site...
Duke redshirt junior Callie Simpkins will head to Charlottesville, Va., this weekend where her sister, Emmy Simpkins will also be making the trip. Emmy Simpkins is the starting goalkeeper for Rutgers, who will be going up against Virginia on Friday. This marks the second time over the last four years Duke and Rutgers will be at the same site of the NCAA Tournament as the Scarlet Knights. Rutgers defeated Duke, 2-0, in the first round of the 2009 NCAA Tournament.
In the Other Matchup...
Virginia enters the second round with a 17-4-1 record and winners of six in a row, including the ACC Championship. Caroline Miller (17 goals) and Makenzy Doniak (9 goals) have led the way for the Cavaliers, who are averaging 2.68 goals a match.
Rutgers owns a 13-7-1 record and has been led by Jonelle Filigno (14 goals) on the year. As a team, the Scarlet Knights have registered 11 shutouts on the year.
Campbell Goes Against Ohio Team...
Senior Tara Campbell will go up against Miami (Ohio), which is only about an hour from her hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio. Campbell will go up against a team from Ohio for the second straight NCAA Tournament as the Blue Devils downed Ohio State, 2-1, last year.
Kerr Erupts in First Round...
After totaling five goals in the regular season, junior Kaitlyn Kerr picked right up where she left off from the 2011 NCAA Tournament as the midfielder set a Duke NCAA Tournament record with a hat trick in the first round against Loyola (Md.). The three goals tied a Duke single game record. She owns a Blue Devil record nine career goals in the NCAA Tournament in three years at Duke.

Duke boasts nine players who have scored goals in the NCAA Tournament -- Kaitlyn Kerr (9), Laura Weinberg (2), Kim DeCesare (2), Mollie Pathman (2), Gilda Doria, Katie Trees (2), Callie Simpkins (2), Kelly Cobb (2) and Cassie Pecht.
In just three years, Kerr is Duke's all-time NCAA Tournament scorer with nine tallies, including five in 2011. Mollie Pathman is Duke's all-time leader in assists in tourney play with five.
