DURHAM, N.C. - Duke freshman Annie Mulholland has been practicing habitually since arriving to campus in August, and competed in the Duke Fab-Four Invitational just two weekends ago in Cary, N.C. Mulholland and sophomore Rachel Kahan teamed up to win the consolation doubles championship in their bracket at the tournament. In singles play, she finished in seventh place in her draw which included victories over Texas A&M's Sun Wen and North Carolina's Jennifer Stone. Recently, Mulholland took some time out to discuss some of her favorites with GoDuke.com.

What is your favorite SPORT related memory? Playing [teammate] Monica [Turewicz] in doubles finals at Tulsa last year.
Do you have any pre-game rituals or superstitions? "I re-grip my rackets."
How would you describe yourself on the court? Fighter
How would you describe yourself off the court? Caring
What would you be doing if you weren't playing tennis? Skiing a lot because my mom doesn't let me.
What are some of the differences between your hometown and Durham? The weather - it always rains back home.
What is the best advice you've ever been given? "Always believe that you're braver than you feel, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think."
What activities/hobbies do you do in your spare time or in the off-season? I love to play cards. I'm a card shark - I get really competitive.
How would your college teammates describe you? I hope they think I'm a loyal and honest friend.
If you were on a deserted island, who and what would you want to have with you? I would have a boat, a phone, a really good book to read and my parents.
If you could be on any of the reality television shows, which one would you choose? The Real World/Road Rules Challenge
If you could be a star in any sport, other than tennis, which one would it be? Football
If you could meet anyone (past or present) who would you want to meet? Barack Obama
If you could bring one thing from your hometown, what would it be? My family
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? I hope to have an international job, working in Europe, consulting.
Who had the greatest impact on your life? Why? My parents because my mom always gives me the best advice and my dad is always supportive of everything I do.
What do you admire most in a person? Loyalty, honesty and kindness.
