COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Hello Blue Devil Fans!
Friday was the last practice for the USA Basketball U19 Women's Basketball World Championship team in the U.S. You can feel the anticipation of the team to travel to Chile with scrimmage games versus Argentina and Russia scheduled quickly after arrival.
Friday was spent getting all the details of our trip sewn up. First up was the team picture, practice, more interviews and pictures, lunch and then I headed over to the USA Basketball offices to pack up medical supplies.
The USA staff took the players to Mr. Biggs (a smaller version of Dave and Busters) for the afternoon to let them unwind before our long travel day on Saturday. We will head out of Colorado Springs around 11:00 a.m. on Saturday and arrive in Puerto Montt, Chile on Sunday at 11:55 a.m. This is officially the longest trip I have ever been on, not sure what to expect.
Before I say goodnight, I want to write a quick thank you to all of the employees at the Olympic Training Center as well as their athletic training staff. They have all been very gracious and very helpful to this U19 team and me.
I also wanted to tell DWB that I miss them and I hear that they are working very hard in the weight room, cardio workouts and most importantly the rehab/prevention arena.
Keep up the good work.
Have a great night!
