Hampton scored just 45 points to mark the seventh time Duke has held an opponent under 50 points in a NCAA Tournament game. It is the second straight year the Blue Devils have done it in their opening round game as they held Arkansas Pine-Bluff to 44 points. Duke has held five opponents this season to under 50 points.
It is the 13th time Duke has shot 50 percent or better on the year, winning all 13 games. The Blue Devils shot 60 percent in the second half and have shot 60 percent or better in a half seven times this season.

Freshman Kyrie Irving played his first game since Dec. 4 after missing the last 26 games with an injury to his right big toe. Irving suffered the injury in the second half against Butler in East Rutherford, N.J.
In his first game back, Irving scored a game-high 14 points in 20 minutes off the bench while adding four rebounds, one assist, one blocked shot and two steals.
Irving has scored in double figures in all nine games he has played in this season, leading the team in scoring for the third time.

Junior Miles Plumlee grabbed a season-high 13 rebounds in the contest, passing his previous high of 11 against North Carolina on March 5. He had 11 of his 13 rebounds in the first half and corralled four offensive boards.
In his last five games, Plumlee is averaging 10.8 rebounds per game and 4.2 offensive rebounds per contest.
Senior Kyle Singler extended his school records for consecutive games played (146) and career starts (145). His 146 games played is tied for third most in school history with Shane Battier and is now two shy of the school record held by Christian Laettner.
Singler broke the school record for career minutes played, passing Bobby Hurley and Chris Duhon for the top spot. He has played a total of 4,816 career minutes.
He has scored in double figures in 32 of the 35 games this year and has 127 career games with at least 10 points.
With his four made field goal attempts he became the eighth player in school history with 800 or more made field goals and now has 802 in his four seasons.
Singler moved into a tie for fifth on Duke's career three-point field goals made list, matching Bobby Hurley's total of 264 career treys.
Senior Nolan Smith moved past Jon Scheyer into 13th on Duke's single season scoring chart. Smith now has 732 points on the year.
Smith tallied seven assists to give him 402 in his career. He is the 13th player in school history with 400 or more. He has 21 games this season with at least five assists.
With the victory Smith becomes just the eighth player in ACC history to be a part of 120 career wins. He is now tied for seventh on the conference's all-time list with Tyler Hansbrough of North Carolina.
