Duke has now won 34 consecutive home games, the longest current streak in the NCAA. It is also the fourth longest streak in school history. They have also won 17 straight home games against ACC opponents and 54 straight against unranked teams.
This season the Blue Devils are 15-0 at home, marking the fifth straight season and 10th time overall that Duke has won 15 or more games in Cameron Indoor Stadium during a season.
The win gave Duke 25 for the season, marking the 24th time in school history they have won at least 25 games, including 20 under head coach Mike Krzyzewski.
The Blue Devils extended their winning streak in the month of February to 18 games with the last loss coming on Feb. 15, 2009 against Boston College.
When playing in the state of North Carolina, Duke has won 28 consecutive games since a loss at N.C. State last season.
Duke is now 31-5 all-time against Georgia Tech in Cameron Indoor Stadium. They have won five straight and 12 of the last 13 at home against the Yellow Jackets.
This is the 12th time this year the Blue Devils have won by 20 or more points.
Duke held Georgia Tech to 57 points, the third time in the last six games they have held their opponent under 60 points. During their current six-game winning streak they are giving up just 59.3 points per game.
The defense also held the Yellow Jackets to 3-of-15 (.200) from behind the three-point line, the seventh time this year an opponent has shot 20 percent or lower from deep.
In the second half this season, Duke has shot 50 percent or better in 19 of the 27 games.
It is the sixth game where the Blue Devils have had 15 or more offensive rebounds. They have outrebounded their opponent in 19 games this season. The 15 offensive rebounds in this game led to a 21-4 advantage in second chance points.
It was also just the fifth time Duke has scored 40 or more points in the paint and first since the UAB game on Jan. 5.
Sophomore Mason Plumlee had nine points and nine rebounds for the second straight game. He is averaging 6.5 points and 10.2 rebounds per game in ACC play this season.
He notched his third straight game with three assists.
Senior Kyle Singler drew his team-leading 95th consecutive start and has now started in 137 of his 138 career games. The 137 career starts ranks third most on Duke's all-time list and is now three shy of the school record.
Singler became the 21st player in ACC history to score 1,000 career points in regular season ACC play. He also moved up the ACC career scoring list, passing Randolph Childress for 16th place with his 2,221 career points.
His nine rebounds tied for the team lead. He has had eight or more boards in seven of the 12 conference games this year.
He has been a part of 118 victories at Duke and now ranks fourth on Duke's career wins list and seventh on the ACC career wins list. His .855 career winning percentage as a player ranks third highest at Duke for players who have started 100 or more games.
Senior Nolan Smith notched his ACC-leading 16th game with 20 or more points. He has scored 20 or more in nine of Duke's 13 ACC games and in 33 career games.
Smith's 28 points moves him into the top 20 on Duke's all-time scoring list. He passed Bobby Hurley for 20th and now has 1,732 career points.
He scored 20 points in the second half, marking the fifth time this season he has scored at least 20 points in one half. His other games with 20 or more were UNC Greensboro (22 in 1st half), UAB (20 in 1st half), St. John's (27 in 2nd half) and North Carolina (22 in 2nd half),
He reached double figures in scoring for the 26th time in 27 games this season. He has 85 career games with 10 or more points.
With his 10 made field goals he has made 10 or more in seven games on the year.
The seven rebounds give him 16 games with five or more boards.
