DURHAM, N.C. – Senior guard
Nolan Smith is one of four college basketball players nominated for the Capital One Cup Impact Performance of the Week.
Smith helped No. 5 Duke come back from a 14-point halftime deficit against No. 20 North Carolina in Cameron Indoor Stadium last Wednesday. He scored a career-high 34 points, including 22 in the second half. It was his third 30-point game of the season. He made a career-high 13 field goal attempts, including three treys and was 5-of-7 from the free throw line. He also had two rebounds, three assists and one steal.
Other nominees are Dwight Hardy of St. John's, Draymond Green of Michigan State and John Jenkins of Vanderbilt. Hardy had 33 points in a win over No. 9 Connecticut. Green recorded a triple-double against Penn State with 15 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists. Jenkins scored 32 points in a win over Kentucky.
