The Citadel Open will feature freshmen and sophomores from over 22 schools around the southeast, including Appalachian State, Chattanooga, Gardner Webb, Limestone and Newberry. The Hokie Open will be held at the Salem Civic Center and tickets to the even at $15 for adults and $5 for students.
Wrestling for the Blue Devils at The Citadel will be Immanuel Kerr-Brown, Robert Mello, Randy Roden and Ethan Ruby. Kerr-Brown is coming off of a redshirt season and will line up at 149 pounds, while Roden will be the lone true freshman competing for Duke. He will wrestle at 165 pounds in his first collegiate action. Mello also will be wearing a Blue Devil singlet for the first time in his career and will be in the 197-pound bracket.
Competing unattached for Duke at The Citadel will be a group of eight rookies, ranging in weight groups from 141 pounds to heavyweight. Trey Adamson (174), Marcus Cain (149), Michael Chapman (HWT), Andrew DeHart (157), Conner Hartmann (197), Tanner Hough (141), Dylan Ryan (184), Brendan Walsh (HWT) all will vie for titles at The Citadel Open in their respective divisions.
At the Hokie Open, eight Blue Devils will compete for top honors. Peter Terrezza returns to 125 pounds after a redshirt season, while sophomores Ryan Harding and Brian Self both will look to build on their strong rookie seasons at 157 and 197 pounds, respectively.
Redshirt freshman Brandon Gambucci will get his first action in a Duke uniform at 133 pounds. Nico Cortese also will line up at 133 pounds after missing last season to injury. Andrew Fulk will represent Duke at heavyweight, while Dan Adamo returns for the Blue Devils to compete at 165 pounds. Chris Mullen will line up at 141 pounds.
Senior AJ Guardado and redshirt sophomore Brent Jorge will wrestle unattached at the Hokie Open.
Duke will next compete at the Wolfpack Open on November 13 at NC State. Competition is set to begin at 9 a.m., at Reynolds Coliseum.
