Upcoming Event: Men's Basketball versus Wake Forest on January 24, 2026 at 12:00 p.m.

11/30/2011 12:25:00 AM | Men's Basketball
• The loss was Duke's
first to a top-10 team since Jan. 30, 2010, against Georgetown. It was Duke's
first loss to a top-five opponent since March 8, 2009, against North Carolina.
• Duke hit just one of its
first eight three-point attempts and shot just 3-of-15 (20.0 percent) from the
three-point line for the game. That was Duke's fewest three-pointers in a game and
lowest three-point percentage since a 3-of-17 (.176) performance against
California in the 2010 NCAA Tournament.
• Ohio State shot 8-of-14
(57.1 percent) from the three-point line, which was the highest three-point
percentage by a Duke opponent this year. None of Duke's opponents had shot over
.350 from beyond the arc this season.
• Ohio State logged a
.593 field goal percentage, hitting 35-of-59 shots from the floor. That is the
highest field goal percentage by a Duke opponent this season. Ohio State's 85
points were also the most allowed by Duke this season.
• Duke allowed two
20-point scorers for the first time since Jan. 30, 2011, when St. John's had
two players both reach 20 points. Only three players have scored 20 points
against Duke this year: Ohio State's Jared Sullinger (21) and William Buford
(20) and Michigan State's Keith Appling (22).
• Ohio State opened the
game with an 11-0 run, but the Blue Devils countered by outscoring the Buckeyes
12-2 over a span of 3:29 to cut the deficit to one point. Duke shot 5-of-6
during that span with five points from Austin Rivers, four points from Mason
Plumlee and three from Seth Curry.
