DURHAM, N.C. - Following registering her first career goal in Duke's 2-0 victory over 24th-ranked Long Beach State on Friday in the NCAA Quarterfinals, Blue Devil sophomore Gilda Doria has been selected to the CS360 Primetime Performer Weekly Honor Roll on Monday.
Doria, who is out of West Palm Beach, Fla., was one of six players selected to the honor roll along with A.D. Franch (Oklahoma State), Ines Jaurena (Florida State), Tiffany McCarty (Florida State), Alisha Woodson (Wake Forest) and Kristy Zurmuhlen (Stanford).
With the victory over Long Beach State, No. 1 seeded and third-ranked Duke advanced to its second NCAA College Cup in school history and the first since 1992. The midfielder made a great move around a Beach defender and tallied a left-footed goal in the 74th minute to put the match away, 2-0.
Duke will next face No. 1 seeded and seventh-ranked Wake Forest on Friday, Dec. 2 at 7:30 p.m., on ESPN3. The match will be played at the KSU Soccer Stadium in Kennesaw, Ga.
