Redshirt freshmen Brandon Gambucci and Immanuel Kerr-Brown along with redshirt junior Peter Terrezza look to continue their strong starts to the season. Gambucci is 7-3 overall at 133 pounds and owns second and fourth-place finishes at the Hokie Open and the Wolfpack Open, respectively. Kerr-Brown leads the Blue Devils at the 149-pound division with a 9-2 record after taking top honors in at The Citadel Open and advancing to the Wolfpack Open consolation semifinals.
Terrezza is Duke's top 125-pound wrestler, sporting a 5-3 record. He most recently took third at the Wolfpack Open. Freshman Randy Roden lines up in the 174-pound bracket with a 6-3 record. He captured third-place honors at The Citadel Open to start the year and looks to continue that trend Sunday.
Anchoring the lineup at the heavier weights are Robert Mello and Brian Self at 197 pounds and Andrew Fulk at heavyweight. Mello saw his first action last weekend at the Wolfpack Open, while Self is posted a 3-2 mark at the Hokie Open to start the year. At heavyweight, Fulk will not wrestle due to an injury.
There will be a host of Blue Devils competing unattached at the Keystone Classic. Freshman Marcus Cain takes his stellar 7-3 record at 149 pounds to the Palestra, while classmate Tanner Hough looks to add to his resume another top-two finish. Hough is 8-1 on the year, taking home the title at The Citadel Open and runner-up honors at the Wolfpack Open from 141 pounds. Redshirt senior AJ Guardado will compete at 149 pounds unattached with a 4-3 mark, while redshirt sophomore Brent Jorge is 8-3 from 141 pounds.
Freshmen Conner Hartmann and Michael Chapman head into the weekend with good starts to their collegiate wrestling careers. At 197 pounds, Hartmann is 9-2 with a pair of top three finishes. Chapman is 6-4 overall at heavyweight and recorded a fourth-place finish at The Citadel Open.
The live streaming from the Penn Sports Network will begin on Sunday starting at 12 p.m., and continue through the championship finals. It will focus on one mat at a time and will show predominantly Penn matches as well as key matches that occur during the day. The championship matches will be shown in their entirety regardless of school affiliation. The subscription fee is $9.95.
