• Head coach
Mike Krzyzewski moved to within one game of tying Bob Knight as the NCAA's all-time winningest Division I men's basketball coach. The win was the 901st of Krzyzewski's 36 seasons as a head coach. He has won 828 of those games during his 32 seasons at Duke.
• Five players scored in double figures with
Seth Curry and
Austin Rivers leading the way with 16 points apiece.
Mason Plumlee netted 13,
Ryan Kelly added 12 and
Tyler Thornton provided 10 points off the bench.
• Thornton and Kelly provided all of the scoring off the bench with a combined 22 points.
• Duke forced 18 turnovers and converted those into 20 points.
• Duke extended its home court winning streak to 37 games, the third longest streak in school history and longest active streak in the NCAA. The Blue Devils are 66-2 in Cameron over the last five seasons.
• Duke extended its non-conference home win streak to 87 games. That streak dates back to Nov. 14, 2000.
• Against unranked opponents, Duke has won 57 straight games in Cameron Indoor Stadium.
• The win marked Duke's 12th consecutive season-opening victory. Duke has won every season opener since the 2000-01 season.
• Duke has now won 38 of its last 41 games dating back to the start of the 2010-11 season. Duke has won 14 consecutive regular season games.
• The Blue Devils are now 13-0 all-time in the Maui Invitational. Duke played in the tournament in 1992-93, 1997-98, 2001-02 and 2007-08.
• Duke has won 31 consecutive games while playing in the state of North Carolina.
• Krzyzewski used the starting trio of
Mason Plumlee,
Miles Plumlee and
Seth Curry for the seventh consecutive game dating back to the 2010-11 season. Those three started Duke's last three games of the 2011 ACC Tournament and all three NCAA Tournament games.
• During a span of 5:57 in the first half, Duke held Belmont to just one field goal. Duke went on a 15-6 run during that span to build a 22-15 lead.
• Duke had another big run in the second half, scoring 12 straight points to turn a 41-37 lead into a 53-37 lead. Duke was 4-for-4 from the floor during that run with three-pointers from
Seth Curry,
Austin Rivers and
Tyler Thornton.
• The Blue Devils will now have less than 20 hours before their next game. Duke faces Presbyterian at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Seth Curry
• Started his 14th consecutive game.
• Sank four consecutive three-pointers on the way to 16 points.
• Scored in double figures for the 17th time in his Duke career. That is the second most among active Duke players behind only
Andre Dawkins (18).
Andre Dawkins
• Earned his eighth career start. ¬
• Hit a crucial three-pointer as the shot clock expired with 16.7 seconds remaining in the game to increase Duke's lead to 75-71.
Ryan Kelly
• Was the first player off Duke's bench.
• Scored 12 points on 3-of-7 shooting. Also went 6-for-6 from the line and scored in double figures for the 10th time in his career.
• Pulled in six rebounds for his 10th career game with 5+ rebounds.
• His last two free throws came with Duke leading by two points with seven seconds remaining in the game. He sank both to put Duke ahead by two possessions.
Mason Plumlee
• Started his 22nd consecutive game.
• Picked up his first double-double of the year and the sixth of his career with 13 points and 14 rebounds.
• Dished out a team-high six assists and added a block.
• Including Duke's two exhibition wins over Bellarmine and Shaw,
Mason Plumlee sank 18 consecutive field goals to start the year. He went 14-for-14 during the exhibition games and hit his first four attempts in the first half.
Miles Plumlee
• Started his seventh consecutive game.
Austin Rivers
• Earned a start in his first career game.
• Tied teammate
Seth Curry with 16 points for the team lead while playing a team-high 38 minutes.
• Sank 8-of-10 free throws in the game. The 10 free throw attempts were the fourth most in a debut performance by a Blue Devil.
• Led the team with 10 points in the first half on just one field goal. Rivers hit a three-pointer and sank 7-of-8 free throws.
Tyler Thornton
• Scored a career-high 10 points off the bench while sinking two three-pointers and all three field goal attempts.
• Gave Duke a spark off the bench in the second half, providing seven points, three steals and two assists.
• Entered the second half with 15:44 on the clock and keyed a crucial Duke run with two steals, an assist and a three-pointer during a 1:41 span. Duke increased its lead from seven points to 16 points during those minutes.
• With 1:23 remaining in the game and Duke leading 70-66, Thornton drew an off-ball foul on Duke's end of the court and sank both free throws to increase the lead to six.
