ORLANDO, FLA. - Former Duke standouts Gerald Henderson, Josh McRoberts and Brian Zoubek opened up 2010 NBA Summer League play in Orlando on Monday. Henderson netted a game-high 20 points for the Charlotte Bobcats, while Zoubek finished with three points in his pro debut for the New Jersey Nets. McRoberts contributed 10 points in Indiana's win over the Orlando Magic.
Henderson paced the Bobcats with 20 points on 7-of-13 shooting from the field and 5-of-5 from the free throw line. He also added four rebounds, four assists and a steal in Charlotte's 85-83 win over the Utah Jazz. Henderson scored 12 first half points as the Bobcats jumped out to a 52-38 lead in the opening 24 minutes of action.
Zoubek went 1-of-1 from the field and 1-of-2 from the free throw line for three points and added three rebounds in just over 13 minutes of play. New Jersey fell 84-74 to the Philadelphia 76ers in the nightcap of the first day of summer league action.
McRoberts, a three-year league veteran, went 3-of-7 from the floor with a pair of three-point field goals during his 10-point outing. He also added two rebounds and an assist before being ejected in the second half after getting into an altercation with Magic rookie Daniel Orton.
All three Blue Devils will also be in action on Tuesday, July 6. Henderson and his Bobcats teammates will face Oklahoma City at 3:00 p.m., while McRoberts and Zoubek will square off in the 7:00 p.m. game from the Orlando Magic practice center.
