COLUMBUS, Ohio – Duke signee Kyrie Irving scored 13 points in a 107-104 loss for the East squad in the 2010 McDonald's All-American game at the Value City Arena in Columbus, Ohio Wednesday night.
Irving drew the start at guard for the East and tallied seven points, two rebounds and one steal in the first four minutes of play. The 6'3” guard from West Orange, N.J. went on to record 11 points, two rebounds, one assist and three steals in just eight minutes during the first half.
During the second half, Irving played 10 minutes with two points on 1-of-3 shooting and one assist. For the game he finished tied for second on his team in scoring with 13 points to go with two rebounds, two assists and three steals. He was 5-of-8 from the field, including 1-of-1 from behind the three-point line.
Wednesday marked the 33rd annual McDonald's All-American game with Duke having 52 players chosen to compete in the high school all-star game. The Blue Devils have had a McDonald's All-American in every recruiting class since 1994.
