Thursday marked the third meeting between Duke and Tulsa with the Blue Devils claiming victories in all three contests. It was the first game between the two schools at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Duke extended its NCAA-leading non-conference home winning streak to 77 games, dating back to an 83-82 loss to St. John's on Feb. 26, 2000. The Blue Devils have also won 41 consecutive home games against unranked opponents dating back to a 68-67 loss to Florida State on Feb. 4, 2007.
The Blue Devils remain undefeated at home this season, matching a school record with their 16th victory in Cameron. The 16 wins tie the previous best set by the 1990-91 (16-0) and 2008-09 (16-1) teams. Duke has now won 17 straight at Cameron Indoor Stadium and 46 of their last 48 games during the past three seasons.
Four players scored in double figures for Duke, marking the 16th game they have had four or more players score at least 10 points.
Two players hauled in at least 10 rebounds, the sixth game this season that two players have pulled down 10 or more boards.
After allowing just 52 points, the Blue Devils have held 14 opponents to under 60 points for the year and are holding opponents to an average of 62.1 points per game for the season.
Duke held Tulsa to a .328 field goal percentage, the 15th time this season they have held an opponent to under 40 percent shooting. The Golden Hurricane shot just .261 from the field in the second half. It was also the seventh time a Duke opponent made fewer than 20 field goals.
Tulsa made just one three point field goal (1-of-10), becoming the 10th team to shoot under 20 percent from deep against the Blue Devils this season. It is the fourth time Duke has allowed just one or fewer made three-point field goals.
Duke made 22 free throws, marking the 11th game where they have made 20 or more.
The Blue Devils held a 47-37 rebounding advantage, improving to 21-2 on the year when outrebounding the opposition. After corralling 18 offensive rebounds, they are averaging a school-record 15.3 offensive rebounds per game.
Duke committed a season-low five turnovers, the sixth game they have been under 10 turnovers. The previous low was seven against Maryland.
Senior Jon Scheyer has started in 35 consecutive games and in 96 career contests.
With three made three-point field goals, Scheyer passed Bobby Hurley for fourth on the school's career three-point field goals chart. Scheyer now has 266 career treys.
Scheyer extended his streak to 21 consecutive games with a made three-point field goal and leads the team with 79 treys this season. He has made three or more in six straight games and 17 overall contests this season.
Scheyer recorded his 103rd career game with 10 or more points. The 103 double-figure scoring games moves him into a tie for 10th all-time at Duke with Jim Spanarkel. He has scored in double figures in 27 of the 28 games on the year.
With his 35 minutes Scheyer passed Gene Banks and Danny Ferry into seventh on Duke's career minutes played list. He now has 4,313 career minutes played.
Junior Kyle Singler extended his consecutive starts streak to 56 games and has now started in 98 career contests.
Singler reached double figures in scoring for the 25th time this season and 84th time in his career.
With his 17 points, he ties Jim Spanarkel for the seventh-highest point total by a junior at Duke. His four rebounds moved him past Randy Denton into ninth most by a junior.
The nine made free throws were one shy of a career best for Singler. He had 10 earlier this season against N.C. State.
Singler has recorded five or more rebounds in 25 of the 28 games this season.
The two blocked shots give Singler six games this season with two or more blocks. He now has a team-high 25 blocks for the year and 88 in his career.
Senior Lance Thomas tallied his fourth career double-figure rebounding game with all four coming this season.
Thomas matched a career high with six offensive rebounds, tying his previous best set last season against Florida State in the ACC Tournament championship game.
Senior Brian Zoubek earned his fourth straight start and is averaging 9.8 points and 12.3 rebounds per game as a starter. He has three games with 10 or more points and three games with 10 or more rebounds during the span of four games.
The double-double gives Zoubek three this season and five for his career. He has scored in double figures seven times this season and has seven games with 10 or more rebounds. For his career he has 15 double-figure scoring games and nine double-figure rebounding contests.
After shooting 4-of-5 from the field, Zoubek improved his team-high field goal percentage to .640 (64-of-100).
Zoubek blocked two shots to give him five games this season with two or more blocks and 14 career games.
