Head coach Mike Krzyzewski moved into a tie for third place on the all-time coaching wins list with Adolph Rupp after Duke's win over Butler. Krzyzewski and Rupp are now tied with 876 career wins.
Duke and Butler played in a rematch of the 2010 National Championship game, a game in which Duke won 61-59 to claim its fourth national title.
The Blue Devils are now 19-1 under Krzyzewski in games played at the Meadowlands. They have won 12 straight games at the Meadowlands dating back to a 77-75 loss to Arizona on Feb. 26, 1989. They are now 9-1 in regular season games played in East Rutherford, N.J.
Duke has won 18 straight games dating back to last season and have started 8-0 for the 16th time under Krzyzewski. They have won 17 straight neutral site contests dating back to a loss to Villanova in the Sweet 16 of the 2009 NCAA Tournament.
The 82 points gives Duke 80 or more in seven of the eight games this season and six straight outings.

Nolan Smith drove the length of the floor with six second remaining in the first half for a dunk to tie the score at 33-33 and help the Blue Devils avoid their first halftime deficit of the season.
The 33 points were the fewest scored in a first half this season for the Blue Devils. The previous low was 38 points against both Michigan State and Miami (Ohio).
Duke went on a 12-0 run to take a two-point deficit and turn it into a 10-point lead at 54-44 with 10:45 remaining. The run covered 4:39 and was keyed by Andre Dawkins who had a steal, dunk and made free throw for a three-point play and then lobbed a pass to Mason Plumlee for an alley-oop dunk.
After Butler cut the lead back to three points at 60-57, Duke freshman Kyrie Irving made back-to-back three-point field goals to put the Blue Devils back up by nine.
Sophomore Andre Dawkins tallied 10 points for his fifth double-figure scoring contest of the season and 11th of his career.
He made two three-point field goals to give him a team-high 19 made treys this year. He has made two or more in six of the eight games.
Dawkins grabbed a career-high eight rebounds to double his previous top total of four which he had on four different occasions, the last being the Marquette game in the CBE Classic earlier this season.
Freshman Kyrie Irving returned to his home state and posted his second straight game with over 20 points, scoring 21 points against the Bulldogs. He has 52 points in the last two games and has reached double figures in scoring in all eight games this season.
Irving made three three-point field goals to match a season high. He has three games this season with three treys.
He was 6-of-6 from the free throw line and is shooting 43-of-48 (.896) on the year.
Senior Nolan Smith leads the ACC with 19 straight double-figure scoring games. He has scored 10 or more points in all eight games this season and in 32 of the last 33 games for the Blue Devils.
With his season-high 24 points, Smith now has two 20-point games this season and 19 in his career.
Smith set a new career high for made free throws, making 13-of-14 from the foul line. His previous high was eight against Virginia Tech last February. It is the third time this season he has made five or more free throws. It is also the second straight game Duke has had a player make over 10 free throws as Irving was 13-of-16 against Michigan State.
