Today's game marked the 200th game Duke has played as the No. 1 ranked team in the country under head coach Mike Krzyzewski. He ranks second in NCAA history in games (200), wins (176) and winning percentage (.880) when ranked at the top of the Associated Press poll.
Duke extended its NCAA-leading streak of non-conference home wins to 83 with the victory over Saint Louis. The Blue Devils have won 25 straight games in Cameron Indoor Stadium overall and 54 of its last 56 home contests. The current home winning streak ranks fifth all-time at Duke.
The Blue Devils have won 20 straight games dating back to last season and have started 10-0 for the 13th time under Krzyzewski. The 10-game winning streak this season marks the 26th 10-game winning streak in one season under Coach K.
Duke has now won 52 consecutive home games in the month of December with the last loss coming against Michigan on Dec. 8, 1996.
The Blue Devils extended their streak of sellouts to 311 consecutive games since Nov. 16, 1990.
With 84 points, Duke has now scored 80 or more in eight straight games and nine of the 10 games on the season.
The Blue Devils held Saint Louis to 47 points, marking the second straight game and third time this year the opponent has scored under 50 points.
Duke shot over 50 percent in both halves for just the second time this season (Marquette). It was the second time they have gone over 50 percent in the first half and ninth time they have done so in the second.
The Blue Devils shot a season-high 60 percent (6-of-10) from behind the three-point line. The six treys tied for the fewest made this season (Marquette).
Meanwhile Saint Louis made just 1-of-7 (.143) from behind the three-point line. It is the fewest three-pointers allowed by Duke this year and second time an opponent shot under 20 percent from deep.
Four different Duke players scored in double figures, marking the ninth time in 10 games that has happened.
Duke only committed nine turnovers for the second straight game, the third time overall on the year they have had less than 10 turnovers.
The Blue Devils also had 10 steals to give them six games with 10 or more.
The 16 points allowed in the first half was the lowest for Duke this season and third time they have limited their opponent to under 20 points in the opening half. They have allowed fewer than 20 points in two straight games.
Saint Louis had twice as many turnovers (14) as made field goals (7) in the first half. The Blue Devils had a 15-2 advantage in points off turnovers in the opening period.
Sophomore Seth Curry recorded his first double-figure scoring game of the season since he had 11 points on Nov. 19 against Colgate. It is his fourth game this year with 10 or more points.
It is the third time this season Curry has made three three-point field goals.
Curry tallied a season-high six assists in the game.
Freshman Josh Hairston recorded his first career double-digit scoring game with 12 points. He set season highs with four made field goals and four free throws made.
Hairston's four rebounds matched his top total from the year while his two steals were a season high.
Sophomore Ryan Kelly matched a career high with four blocked shots. He also had four blocks against Gonzaga last season. He is second on the team with 12 blocks this year.
Junior Miles Plumlee finished with nine points and nine rebounds. The nine points are tied for second most this season while his nine rebounds were one shy of a season high.
Plumlee notched his second multi-steal game of the year with two steals.
Senior Kyle Singler drew his team-leading 78th consecutive start and has now started in 120 of his 121 career games. The 120 career starts ranks tied for 11th on Duke's all-time list.
Singler tallied his 104th career double figure scoring game. He recorded his second 20-point game of the season and 34th of his career. He has scored 10 or more points in nine of the 10 games this season.
With his 21 points he passed Grant Hill and Shelden Williams on Duke's career scoring list to move into 14th all-time. Singler now has 1,930 career points.
The three steals for Singler were a season high and fifth time he has had two or more in a game.
Senior Nolan Smith recorded his third game this season with 20 or more points and his 20th career 20-point game. He reached double figures in scoring for the ninth time this season and 68th time in his career.
He pulled down six rebounds to give him five games this season with five or more.
Smith finished with five assists to give him five or more in seven games this season with at least five assists.
With two steals he has posted at least two steals in three outings.
