DURHAM, N.C. - The Duke women's soccer team had its run at the ACC Tournament cut short in the quarterfinals and are now awaiting the NCAA Tournament selection show on Monday, Nov. 8 at 4:30 p.m. The show will be aired live on ESPNU.
With a RPI of No. 28, the Blue Devils are hoping to receive their eighth straight and 17th overall invitation to the NCAA Tournament. Duke has registered a 10-7-3 overall record and played some of its best soccer at the end of the season.
After opening ACC action with an 0-3-1 record, the Blue Devils won four out of their next four matches, including victories against then sixth-ranked Boston College and 25th-ranked Virginia Tech. Leading Duke have been freshmen Laura Weinberg and Mollie Pathman with nine and eight goals, respectively. The Blue Devil duo were named Second Team All-ACC last week prior to heading to the ACC Tournament.
Duke has advanced to the NCAA Elite Eight in two out of the last three years under the direction of Head Coach Robbie Church. The Blue Devils have scored 11 goals over the last five matches entering NCAA action.
