With the win Duke advances to the finals of the CBE Classic. They have won 14 straight in-season tournament games, including championships in three straight seasons.
In the month of November, Duke has won 26 consecutive games avenging their last loss against Marquette in the 2006 CBE Classic.
Dating back to last season, the Blue Devils have now won 14 straight games.
Duke has scored 80 or more points in three of the four games and are averaging 92 points per game. They have had at least four players score in double figures in all four games.
The Blue Devils shot .547 (35-of-64) in the game and have shot over 50 percent in two of its four games this season. Duke shot .552 (16-of-29) in the first half and .543 (19-of-35) in the second half. They have shot over 50 percent in a half four times this season. Previously their highest first half percentage was .464 (13-of-28) against Miami (Ohio).
Duke held Marquette to .200 (4-of-20) shooting from behind the three-point line. It is the lowest opponent percentage of the season. Last year the Blue Devils held 11 opponents to 20 percent or lower from beyond the arc.
For the third straight game, Duke outrebounded its opponent. With the help of 12 rebounds from Mason Plumlee, the Blue Devils had a 39-36 edge in the game.
Of the 35 made field goals, the Blue Devils recorded 20 assists for an assist on 57 percent of its buckets. Duke has had 20 or more assists in three of the four games and are averaging 21.25 assists per game.
Duke blocked a season-high 10 shots in the game, including five by Mason Plumlee. The 10 blocks are the most since they had 10 against Long Beach State last season.
Sophomore Andre Dawkins matched career high with four rebounds and three assists. It is the fourth time in his career he has grabbed four rebounds. He also had three assists last season against Coastal Carolina.
Dawkins also recorded just his third career blocked shot. Last season he blocked a shot against both UNC Greensboro and Radford.
Freshman Kyrie Irving has scored in double figures in each of his first four collegiate games after posting 11 points against Marquette.
Irving dished out seven assists and has now recorded seven or more assists in three of his first four collegiate games. He is averaging 6.8 assists per game on the season.
The freshman point guard has blocked a shot in three of his first four games.
Sophomore Mason Plumlee recorded his second career double-double with a career-high 25 points and 12 rebounds.
He posted his second double figure scoring game of the season and fifth of his career with 25 points. It is his first career 20-point game as his previous career high was 18 points against Pennsylvania on Dec. 31, 2009.
The 12 made field goals were a career high for Plumlee, who had seven against Pennsylvania last season. It is the most made field goals by a Duke player since 2006 when Shelden Williams went 12-of-17 against Southern in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
His 12 rebounds give him two career games with 10 or more. He had 14 earlier this season against Miami (Ohio) and is averaging 10.0 rebounds per game in the CBE Classic to go along with 13.3 points per game.
Plumlee set a career high with five blocked shots. The previous high for Plumlee was four against Long Beach State last season. The last time a player had at least five blocks was in 2009 when Kyle Singler had six blocks against Boston College in the ACC Tournament.
Senior Kyle Singler drew his 72nd consecutive start and has now started in 114 of his 115 career games.
Singler scored in double figures for the 98th time in his career and third game this season.
With his two three-point field goals, Singler moved into Duke's career top 10 and is now tied with Greg Paulus for ninth on the career list with 210 career treys. He passed current Associate Head Coach Chris Collins as well.
Senior Nolan Smith now leads the ACC with 15 straight double-figure scoring games. He has scored 10 or more points in 28 of the last 29 games for the Blue Devils.
Smith pulled down a career-high nine rebounds, two more than his previous best of seven at Florida State in 2008.
The senior guard has dished out three or more assists in all four games, averaging 6.3 assists per game on the year.
