Reka Zsilinszka competed in day two of the qualifying singles and doubles bracket at the Riviera ITA Women's All-American Championships on Wednesday, Oct. 6. Fahoum and Nze advanced to the main draw of the doubles bracket, and join
Mary Clayton and Nze, who will start competition in the singles main draw beginning on Thursday.
Top-seeded Fahoum and Nze were matched up in day two against Kaitlyn Christian and Maria Sanchez from Southern California. Fahoum and Nze advanced by default and are scheduled to face off against Nadja Gilchrist and Lilly Kimbell from Georgia on Thursday.
The Blue Devil duo of
Monica Gorny and Clayton was selected to the doubles main draw at the Riviera. The Duke pair will play against Valeria Pulido and Alison Ramos from USC in first round doubles action on Thursday.
In singles action, Zsilinszka faced off against Joanna Mather from Florida. Zsilinszka grabbed her second win of the Riviera by a score of 6-2, 6-3. Zsilinszka will take on Gilchrist from Georgia on Thursday for a chance to advance to the singles main draw. Fahoum was knocked from the qualifying rounds of the tournament on Wednesday following a second round loss to Noemie Scharle from Florida State.
Up next in the Riviera, Blue Devil seniors, Clayton and Nze will play in the main draw of the tournament starting on Thursday. Clayton begins singles action against Anouk Tigu from Arkansas, and teammate Nze is set to face off with Allison Ramos from USC.
All the action from the Riviera is scheduled to begin with the doubles main draw at noon (EST) followed by the final rounds of singles qualifying at 1:45 p.m. (EST). The main draw singles action is slated for 3:45 p.m. (EST).
