- Coaching staffs from Duke and Georgetown joined college basketball coaches from across the country in wearing tennis shoes with their suits on Saturday as part of Coaches vs. Cancer weekend. The coaches wore tennis shoes instead of dress shoes to help raise cancer awareness and remind fans that by making healthy lifestyle choices, such as regular exercise and a healthy diet, they can reduce their own cancer risk.
- Duke Athletics joined a national fundraising effort titled "Save Haiti Saturday" to aid the nation's earthquake recovery efforts. Starting with last Saturday's game at Clemson, the 15 Duke teams currently in competition have displayed "Save Haiti Saturday" patches to maintain awareness for the relief effort in Haiti.
- The 89 points for Georgetown were the most Duke has allowed this season. It is only the second time an opponent has scored over 80 points against the Blue Devils.
- The Hoyas shot .773 (33-of-46) from the field, the highest shooting percentage ever by a Duke opponent. The previous record was .714 (40-of-56) by Louisville on January 12, 1983. It was only the fourth time that a Duke opponent has shot over .700 from the field.
- Duke shot .846 (22-of-26) from the free throw line, marking the 11th time they have shot 80 percent or better at the foul line.
- The Blue Devils held a 32-22 rebounding advantage for the game, the 17th time in 21 games they have outrebounded their opponent.
- With 11 steals Duke has recorded 10 or more steals in two straight games and four games overall this year.
Player Notes:
- Sophomore Miles Plumlee blocked two shots to give him a team-high 19 blocks on the year. He has blocked two or more shots in five games this season and eight career contests.
- Senior Jon Scheyer tallied his team-leading 20th game with 10 or more points and now has 96 career double figure scoring games.
- Scheyer extended his streak to 14 consecutive games with a made three-point field goals and leads the team with 57 treys this season. He has made three or more in 11 games on the year.
- With 17 points, Scheyer passed Bobby Hurley for 18th on Duke's all-time scoring list. Scheyer now has 1,742 career points.
- Scheyer tallied five assists to give him at least five assists in 15 games this season.
- The five steals match a career high for Scheyer and marked the fourth time this season and 22nd time in his career he has recorded at least three steals in a game. He also had five steals against Georgia Tech on Feb. 18, 2007.
- Junior Kyle Singler extended his consecutive starts streak to 49 games and has now started in 91 career contests.
- Singler reached double figures in scoring for the 18th time this season and 77th time in his career.
- With 18 points Singler moved past Phil Henderson into 31st on the career scoring list at Duke.
- The four assists give Singler at least three assists in 11 games this season.
- Singler also had two steals and has two or more steals in five of the last six games.
- Junior Nolan Smith has at least 10 points in 18 games this season and 41 career games with his double digit scoring performance.
- Smith has led the team in scoring nine times this season and scored seven of his team-high 19 points in the final two minutes of the contest.
- Senior Lance Thomas grabbed five rebounds to give him five or more boards in four straight games and eight games overall for the year.
