DURHAM, N.C. - GoDuke.com sat down with freshman defensive lineman Brandon Putnam on Thursday to talk about how he is wearing his favorite number and what he wants to do after football.

GoDuke.com: Why Did You Choose Duke?
Brandon Putnam: Picking Duke was a combination of an athletic department that is geared towards success in football right now and I wanted to get a good education at the same time.
GD: Any Brothers or Sisters?
BP: I have an older brother who is at Georgia State and a younger sister who is in high school.
GD: What number did you wear in high school?
BP: No. 84 ... I got it because I liked Randy Moss at the time when he was wearing No. 84. I had 54 in middle school and it was always my favorite number but when I got to high school a senior had it so I couldn't get it. When I got to college 54 was open, my favorite number.
GD: What sport would you play besides football?
BP: Basketball.
GD: What was your favorite NFL team and player growing up?
BP: The Atlanta Falcons and Jamaal Anderson
GD: What websites do you visit most?
BP: worldstarhiphop.com.
GD: What do you like to do outside of football?
BP: I just like to hang out, relax and kick back. I also like driving.
GD: Who is your roommate this year?
BP: Lex Butler.
GD: After football what job would you like to have?
BP: I want to go into the management field of athletic teams. Maybe like a general manager.
