Bradley & Alukonis Earn Academic All-District Honors

DURHAM, N.C. - Two members of the Duke University women's soccer team -- junior Kendall Bradley and senior Jane Alukonis -- have been selected to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District III squad by a vote of members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Bradley earned second team honors, while Alukonis was named to third team in District III.

A product of Durham, N.C., Bradley was selected to the All-District III team for the second straight year as the midfielder owns a 3.55 grade-point average, while obtaining a major in evolutionary anthropology. On the season, Bradley has started 11 of 17 matches for the Blue Devils. She registered the game-winning goal at Clemson as Duke downed the Tigers, 2-0.

Alukonis, who is one of four captains for the Blue Devils, has started all 18 matches in the midfield during her final year at Duke. She has collected one goal and four assists for six points in 2009. Alukonis, who is from Boca Raton, Fla., owns a 3.43 grade-point average and is majoring in political science.

Duke will close out the regular season on Sunday, Nov. 1 at N.C. State with a 1:00 p.m. kickoff in Raleigh, N.C.
