Duke Notes
No. 3-ranked Duke defeated No. 13 Georgetown 76-67 on Saturday, January 17, 2009, inside Cameron Indoor Stadium in Durham, N.C. to improve to 16-1 on the season.
A Winning Tradition
? Duke has now won 1,863 games all-time, the fourth-highest victory total in NCAA history.
? The Blue Devils have won 277 games this decade, the most wins in a decade by the program. The win total is the fifth-most in any decade by a team in NCAA history.
? Duke has now won its first 10 home games in a season a total of 18 times, including 13 times under Coach K.
? The Blue Devils have started the season 16-1 for the 12th time in school history. The Blue Devils have begun the year 16-1 for the second straight season and sixth time this decade. Coach K has led Duke to a 16-1 start a total of eight times.
Duke vs. Georgetown Series
? Duke and Georgetown met for the 13th time on Saturday with the Blue Devils now leading the overall series 7-6.

? Coach K now owns a 5-2 career record against Georgetown with a 3-1 record in January.

? The 68 straight non-conference home wins is the second longest streak in school history. The Blue Devils won 95 straight from Feb. 2, 1983 through Nov. 29, 1995.
? Duke has won 198 of its last 201 non-conference games at home.
Duke In January
? Duke improved to 5-0 in the month of January in 2008-09. Under Coach K, the Blue Devils have a 197-54 all-time record in the month of January.
? The Blue Devils have won 18 straight games in the month of January dating back to a 74-63 loss at Georgia Tech on Jan. 10, 2007. Duke is 91-7 in its last 98 January games since 1998.
? When playing on Jan. 17, Duke is now 15-6 all-time, including a 5-4 record under Coach K. The Blue Devils have won the last four games on this date.
Krzyzewski Climbs Victory Ladder
? Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski earned his 819th victory as a head coach on Wednesday. He ranks fifth all-time in NCAA Division I history for career victories and is first among active coaches.
? Krzyzewski is now 11 victories shy of Jim Phelan for fourth all-time.
? Coach K now has 745 wins as the head coach at Duke, ranking him sixth in NCAA Division I history for victories at one school and second among active coaches (Jim Boeheim, Syracuse ? 785). Krzyzewski is 13 wins shy of Western Kentucky's Ed Diddle for fifth all-time.
? Krzyzewski's 819 victories are the second most by a head coach through 34 years of coaching. Only Dean Smith of North Carolina won more games with 830 victories.
1,000 Career Points
? Duke has 57 players in its school history who have scored at least 1,000 points in their career, including current players Greg Paulus and Jon Scheyer. The 57 players with 1,000 career points give the Blue Devils the third most 1,000-point scorers of any school in Division I behind North Carolina (62) and Louisville (59).
? Senior Greg Paulus currently ranks 46th on the school's all-time list with 1,101 career points. Junior Jon Scheyer is 52nd all-time with 1,034 career points.
? The Blue Devils have two other players chasing 1,000 career points this season. Junior Gerald Henderson currently has 890 points while sophomore Kyle Singler has 736 in his career.
Offensive Notes
? The Blue Devils have now scored 70 or more points in 15 of the 17 games this season. Duke is 657-130 under Coach K when scoring at least 70 points in a game.
? Four players scored in double figures, marking the 10th game this year where four players scored 10 or more points.

He as reached double figures in scoring in 13 games this year and 45 career games. He has scored in double figures in nine straight games, averaging 17.3 points per game over that span.
? Henderson scored 17 of his 23 points in the first half on 7-of-8 shooting and 3-of-4 from three-point range.
? Henderson made a career-high 10 field goals and finished the game 10-of-15 from the field. His previous career high was nine made shots on two occasions, the last at Florida State on Jan. 10.
? Henderson made three treys in the game to give him seven straight games with a made three-point field goal. He has three games this season with three makes from long range.

Kyle Singler
? Sophomore Kyle Singler tallied 15 points and 16 rebounds for his second straight game with a double-double. He now has five double-doubles this year and nine in his career.
? The 15 points give Singler 10 or more points in 16 of the 17 games on the season. He has 41 career double figure scoring games.
? For the second straight game, Singler recorded a career high in rebounds. He pulled down 16 boards against Georgetown and is averaging 15.0 rebounds in his last two games. The last time a Duke player had 15 or more rebounds was Dec. 31, 2006 when Josh McRoberts recorded 17 rebounds against San Jose State. Singler has now pulled down at least five rebounds in all 17 games this season.
? Singler matched a season high with six offensive rebounds. He also had six offensive rebounds against No. 9 Purdue on Dec. 2 and at Georgia Tech on Wednesday. He is now averaging 3.1 offensive rebounds per game.
Nolan Smith
? Sophomore Nolan Smith was 2-for-2 from the free throw line and has now made his last 10 attempts and 20 of his last 21 tries. He leads the team this season with a .930 (40-of-43) free throw percentage.
