NCAA Tournament First Round

With The Duke Victory:
? Improved to 15-0 in NCAA Tournament first round contests
? Notched its seventh win out of eight games in the Comcast Center.
? Moved its record in March to 63-22 since 1992-93 and 55-14 over the last 11 years.
? Head Coach Joanne P. McCallie improved to 11-11 in NCAA Tournament play in 12 appearances. She has now won at least one game in the NCAA Tournament in five consecutive years.
? Improved to 38-14 overall in 15 appearances in the NCAA Tournament.
? Moved to 6-1 overall when a No. 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament (1999 was only other time).
? Will next play in the second round against the winner of the No. 6 seed Arizona State/No. 11 seed Temple contest. The second round contest will be played on Tuesday, March 25 at a time yet to be determined.
Junior Chante Black
? Had one block on the night, giving her 187 for her career. Is now in sole possession of 13th place on the ACC career blocked shots list.
? Finished the game with 14 points, seven rebounds, two steals, one assist and one block.
? Collected double-figure scoring for the 28th time this season out of 33 games.
Junior Abby Waner
? Took five three-pointers giving her 495 for her career, which is now sole possession of second place on Duke's all-time three-pointers attempted list.
? Notched two steals to move into sixth place on Duke's all-time steals list with 224.
? Finished with five points, three rebounds, four assists and two steals in 26 minutes.
Senior Wanisha Smith
? Finished with a team-high 16 points, which moved her into 16th place on Duke's all-time scoring list with 1,236 points.
? Made her 117th career start and is now one start away from moving into a tie for fourth along with Lindsey Harding.
? Registered double-figure scoring for the 12th time this season and the fourth time in her career during the NCAA Tournament.
Freshman Jasmine Thomas
? Started her first career NCAA Tournament game and had 13 points, a career-high nine rebounds and tied a career high with six assists.
? Posted double-figure scoring for the 11th time this season and the second straight game.
? Hit 2-of-3 from three-point land, marking the second consecutive game she has hit two or more treys.
Freshman Karima Christmas
? Left the game at the 3:07 mark of the first half with a bump on her head/headache, after falling hard on the offensive end.
Other Duke Notes:
? Played it first game in two weeks (13 days off) since the ACC Tournament on March 9.
? Abby Waner hit Duke's first three-point attempt of the game in the first half, but the Blue Devils went on to miss six in a row before Jasmine Thomas sank one at the 13:19 mark of the second half. As a team, Duke hit four for the game.
? Totaled a 48-29 rebounding advantage in the game.
? Held a 46-18 points in the paint advantage.
? Posted three players with seven or more rebounds -- Jasmine Thomas (9), Joy Cheek (7) and Chante Black (7).
? Registered 20 assists, which are the most since Duke had 22 against N.C. Central on Jan. 3.
? Had 20 offensive rebounds on the night.
? Totaled a season-low one blocked shot.
? All 11 players who played scored in the game.
? After hitting 1-of-6 three-pointers in the first half, the Blue Devils hit 3-of-6 in the second stanza.
