No. 6-ranked Duke defeated UNC Asheville 99-56 on Wednesday, December 17, 2008, in Cameron Indoor Stadium to improve to 9-1 in the 2008-09 season.
Duke vs. UNC Asheville Series
? Duke and UNC Asheville met on the hardwood for the first time on Wednesday with the Blue Devils earning a 99-56 victory in Durham.
? The Blue Devils now have an all-time record of 26-9 against teams currently in the Big South Conference. Duke is now 2-0 this season against Big South schools. They also defeated Presbyterian, 80-49, in the season opener.
? Duke has now won 12 straight games against Big South opponents with the last loss coming to VMI, 32-31 in overtime, on Feb. 17, 1937.
Non-Conference Home Winning Streak
? With a win over UNC Asheville, Duke stretched its NCAA-leading non-conference home winning streak to 65 consecutive games. The Blue Devils' last home loss to a non-conference team was an 83-82 decision against St. John's on Feb. 26, 2000.
? The 65 straight non-conference home wins is the second longest streak in school history. The Blue Devils won 95 straight from Feb. 2, 1983 through Nov. 29, 1995.
? Duke has won 195 of its last 198 non-conference games at home.
Duke In December
? Duke improved to 2-1 in December games this season. Under Coach K, the Blue Devils have a 154-25 all-time record in the month of December.
? The Blue Devils are now 46-3 in December since 1999-2000. The three losses in the last 49 games came to No. 3 Stanford (84-83) on Dec. 21, 2000, No. 11 Pittsburgh in overtime (65-64) on Dec. 20, 2007 and at Michigan (81-73) earlier this season on Dec. 6.
? When playing on Dec. 17, Duke is now 16-8 all-time, including a 5-0 record under Coach K. The Blue Devils defeated Albany, 111-70, last year on Dec. 17 for Duke's last 100-point game. Coach K has also led his teams to victories over Davidson (82-65) in 1984, North Carolina A&T (91-57) in 2002 and Princeton (69-51) in 2003.
Krzyzewski Climbs Victory Ladder
? Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski earned his 812th victory as a head coach on Wednesday. He ranks fifth all-time in NCAA Division I history for career victories and is first among active coaches.
? Krzyzewski is now 18 victories shy of Jim Phelan for fourth all-time.
? Coach K now has 739 wins as the head coach at Duke, ranking him sixth in NCAA Division I history for victories at one school and second among active coaches (Jim Boeheim, Syracuse ? 771). Krzyzewski is 20 wins shy of Western Kentucky's Ed Diddle for fifth all-time.
? Krzyzewski's 812 victories are the second most by a head coach through 34 years of coaching. Only Dean Smith of North Carolina won more games with 830 victories.
Offensive Notes
? Duke scored 99 points against UNC Asheville, the third time this season they have topped the 90-point mark. The Blue Devils are 248-8 all-time under Coach K when scoring 90 or more points. Duke has scored over 70 points in all nine games this year and are 3-0 when scoring 90 or more points.
? The Blue Devils' bench scored a school record 72 points (bench scoring records kept since 1976-77). The previous record was 70 against Harvard on Nov. 25, 1989.
? Five Duke players scored 10 or more points off the bench to also set a new school record. The previous record was four players against N.C. Central last season on Nov. 9, 2007. Duke has had three players score 10 or more points off the bench a total of 17 times.
? Duke scored a season-high 50 points in the paint. The previous best was 48 against both Montana and Duquesne. The 50 points in the paint were the most since the Blue Devils had 56 against Princeton on Nov. 19, 2007.
? The Blue Devils made a season-high 36 field goals. The previous high was 35 against Duquesne on Nov. 28. Duke has five games this season with 30 or more made field goals.
? Duke shot over 50 percent for the second time this season, making 36-of-69 (.522). Under Coach K, the Blue Devils have a 414-30 all-time record when shooting better than 50 percent from the floor.
? The Blue Devils sank a season-high 11 three-point field goals. It was the second time this season they had 10 or more made treys and 156th time in school history. They are 29-2 when making 10 or more three-point field goals since March, 2005 and 125-31 all-time.

? The Blue Devils tallied 10 steals in the game. It is the fifth time this year they have recorded 10 or more steals. Seven different players recorded a steal in the game.
? Duke forced 24 turnovers to give them three games this season where they have caused 20 or more turnovers. The Blue Devils outscored UNC Asheville 36-17 in points off turnovers and have a 243-141 advantage in points off turnovers for the season.

Gerald Henderson
? Junior Gerald Henderson had his streak of 17 consecutive starts snapped on Wednesday. The last time he did not start a game was on Feb. 23 last season against St. Johns.
? Henderson scored 14 points off the bench to tie for the team lead. He has scored in double figures six times this season and 38 times in his career. He made 5-of-10 from the floor and was 5-of-7 (.714) inside the three-point line. He was also 4-of-4 from the foul line.
? With five made field goals, Henderson matched a season high. He also made five shots against Southern Illinois and Montana.
? Henderson was a perfect 4-of-4 from the free throw line and has made his last 11 free throw attempts.
David McClure
? Senior David McClure pulled down four rebounds to give him four straight games with at least three rebounds. He has seven games this season with three or more boards.
? McClure tallied a career-high four assists. His previous career high was three assists set three times. He had three assists in Duke's last game at Michigan on Dec. 6.
Greg Paulus
? Senior Greg Paulus scored a season-high 12 points on 4-of-8 shooting from behind the three-point line. He has scored in double figures twice this season and 55 times in his career.
? Paulus moved past Jay Bilas on Duke's all-time scoring list and now ranks 49th in school history with 1,069 career points. Next up on the list is Duke Associate Head Coach Chris Collins with 1,091 career points.
? The four three-point field goals for Paulus were a season-high and give him 30 career games with three or more made treys in a game.
? Paulus dished out three assists for the third time this season and 80th time in his career.
? Paulus also recorded his fifth career blocked shot with two as a sophomore and two as a junior.
Miles Plumlee
? Freshman Miles Plumlee started for the second time this season. He also started in the season opener against Presbyterian.
? Plumlee matched his season high with six points on 2-of-4 shooting and 2-of-2 from the foul line. He also had six points against Montana on Nov. 23.
? Plumlee had four rebounds and now has four games this season with three or more rebounds.
Martynas Pocius
? Junior Martynas Pocius made his first career start against UNC Asheville. Pocius had played in 67 career games without a start prior to Wednesday's game.
Jon Scheyer
? Junior Jon Scheyer scored 13 points off the bench on 3-of-6 from the field, 3-of-5 from behind the three-point line and 4-of-4 from the foul line. He now has seven games with 10 or more points this season and 53 in his career, 23 of which have come off the bench.
? Scheyer made three treys for the second time this season. He has 18 career games with at least three treys.

Kyle Singler
? Sophomore Kyle Singler did not appear in the starting lineup for the first time in his collegiate career. His streak of 43 consecutive starts came to an end as the eighth longest streak to begin a career by a Duke player.
? Singler became the sixth Duke player and first Blue Devil off the bench to lead the team or tie for the lead in points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocked shots in a game. He finished the game with 14 points, eight rebounds, five assists, four steals and one block. The other five players to accomplish the feat were Jim Spanarkel at North Carolina, 1/15/77 (19 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, 1 block), Gene Banks vs. N.C. State, 12/6/80 (14 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 block, 1 steal), Mark Alarie vs. George Mason, 1/3/83 (19 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 blocks, 3 steals), Johnny Dawkins vs. Stetson, 2/16/83 (29 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 steal, 1 block) and Chris Carrawell vs. N.C. State, 2/19/00 (22 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 blocks, 1 steal).
? Singler tallied at least one point, rebound, assists, blocked shot and steal for the fifth time this season.
? Singler scored 14 points on 6-of-8 shooting, including 2-of-2 from the three-point line. He has reached double figures in all 10 games this season and in 35 career games.

? Williams matched a career high with six points on 3-of-7 shooting. He also scored six points against Southern Illinois on Nov. 20.
? With eight rebounds, Williams has two games this season with over five boards. He had 11 rebounds against Georgia Southern on Nov. 11.

Brian Zoubek
? Junior Brian Zoubek tallied a season-high 12 points on 5-of-6 from the field and 2-of-3 from the foul line. He has scored 10 or more points twice this season and seven times in his career. His previous high this season was 10 points against Southern Illinois on Nov. 20.
? Zoubek made a season-high five field goals. His previous best was four against Montana on Nov. 23 and Michigan on Dec. 6.
