Barone Named Student-Athlete Of The Week

DURHAM, N.C. ? John Barone of the Duke wrestling team has been named the Ronald McDonald House Charities Student-Athlete of the Week.
A sophomore from Shirley, N.Y., Barone turned in an outstanding performance last weekend at the Hoosier Duals in Indiana. He won all five of his matches, including three pins, one major decision and a 12-6 upset victory over the No. 8 ranked wrestler in the nation, Marc Bennett of Indiana.
Competing in the 184-pound weight class, Barone improved his record this season to 15-1 and his career mark to 50-16, which is one of the top 10 winning percentages in school history.
Barone and the Blue Devils return to action this Saturday with their participation in the Davidson Open.
