Duke advances to face No. 11 Marquette, who defeated Oklahoma State 91-61 earlier in the day. Duke and Marquette will face off for a midseason tournament championship for the second time in as many years as the Golden Eagles defeated Duke 73-62 in the final of last season's NIT Season Tipoff.

Gerald Henderson scored a career high 23 points in his first career 20 point performance. He shot 8-of-15 from the field and 2-of-4 from behind the arc and added five rebounds and two blocks. Henderson has scored in double figures in all four games this year and in six of the last seven games dating back to last year. He has reached double figures in 11 career games. Henderson's 23 points is tied for the fourth most by a Duke player in the Maui Invitational.
Henderson's 23 points also marks the fourth different Blue Devil to score 20 or more points in the first four games of the season. Only twice in school history have four different players scored 20 or more points in the first four games of the season. Taylor King scored 20 in the season opener against N.C. Central, Jon Scheyer scored 22 against New Mexico and Kyle Singler scored 21 against Princeton. In 1964, four different players did it with a different player in each game: Hack Tison (24 vs. Virginia Tech, 12/1), Steve Vadendak (23 vs. Michigan, 12/5), Bob Verga (24 vs. Navy, 12/10) and Jack Marin (22 vs. South Carolina, 12/12). In 2000, four players did it in the first three games and then a repeat happened in the fourth game: Shane Battier (29 vs. Princeton, 11/14), Carlos Boozer (22 vs. Villanova, 11/17), Nate James (26) and Jason Williams (20 vs. Texas, 11/22) and Boozer (26 vs. Temple, 11/24).
DeMarcus Nelson scored 16 points shooting 6-of-8 from the field and 4-of-6 from the free throw line, and added six rebounds and a pair of assists. It marks the third time he's reached double figures this season and 46th of his career.
Greg Paulus scored 10 points, including 2-of-4 from behind the arc and 4-of-4 from the free throw line. He added four assists and three rebounds in 31 minutes of action. It marks his first game in double-figures this season and 33rd such game of his career.
Jon Scheyer scored seven points and pulled down a career-high tying seven rebounds.
Hit connected on 26-of-46 from the field for a 56.5 shooting percentage. It was the fewest field goal attempts for Duke this season by 21, the next fewest 67 vs. New Mexico State, but it's the second-highest percentage in four games this season behind 57.4 (39-of-68) in the season opener against N.C. Central.
Duke was outrebounded by 10 (41-31) against the Illini, marking the first time since March 11, 2006, that Duke has been outrebounded by double digits. Ironically, Duke won that game against Wake Forest, 78-66. In fact, Duke has won its last six games when being outrebounded by 10 or more dating back to a 75-73 loss to North Carolina on March 6, 2005.
