Zawacki, Mang Fall In Back Draw Finals At All-American

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. - The Duke duo of junior Melissa Mang and senior Tory Zawacki fell in the consolation final match at the 2007 Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships presented by Fila on Saturday.
The Blue Devil pair, which ranks 22nd in the national preseason listings, upset the fifth-ranked tandem of Elena Gantcheva and Kristina Nedeltcheva of UNLV, 8-2, before moving on to defeat the 23rd-ranked duo of Maryori Franco and Nanar Airapetian of Arkansas, 8-5, to advance to the final match, but the duo lost an 8-3 decision to No. 11 Tinesta Rowe and Melanie Gloria of Fresno State in the final contest.
In the first round of the All-American main draw, Mang and Zawacki fell to Hannah Robinson and Megan Falcon of UCLA, 8-2.
Mang and Zawacki reached the main draw of the championships via a wild card entry after the tandem won the doubles title at the 2007 ITA National Summer Championships in August.
