With its 75-61 win over Boston College, Duke improves to 18-3 on the season and is now 7-1 against the Eagles, including 3-0 at Cameron Indoor Stadium. Duke has now won six straight over the Eagles while Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski improves to 6-1.
Duke honored Shelden Williams by making him the 12th player in program history to have his jersey retired. A two-time National Defensive Player of the Year, Williams' No. 23 is now hanging in the rafters of Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Freshman Jon Scheyer scored 11 points, including six in a margin of a minute and a half at the end of the game to push Duke's lead back to double-digits. He was 4-of-4 from the free throw line and has now hit 29 straight from the charity stripe, tied for the fourth-longest streak in Duke history. He passed Shane Battier, who hit 27 straight in 2001 and is tied with Trajan Langdon, who also made 29 straight in 1997-98. Third on the list is Christian Laettner who had 35 straight in 1992 while J.J. Redick owns the top two marks with 54 straight in 2004 and 43 in 2003. Redick's 54 straight is an ACC record.
Duke held Boston College to just 29 points in the second half, meaning Duke has now held its opponents to under 30 points in a half 23 times (out of 42 halves of play).
Duke outrebounded Boston College 41-30, marking the 18th time in 21 games this season, and sixth time in seven ACC games, that Duke has outrebounded its opponent. Duke owns a +7.2 rebounding margin over its opponents this season (36.3-to-29.2). It also marks the seventh game this year and second straight that Duke has held a double-digit lead in team rebounds over its opponent.
Under Coach K, Duke is now 269-117 in regular season ACC play, including a 152-42 mark on the road. He owns a 117-75 mark on the road, as well. The 269 wins are the second most in ACC history.
Junior DeMarcus Nelson scored a team-high 17 points and added eight rebounds, two assists and blocks and one steal. He shot 8-of-16 from the floor and five of his eight rebounds were offensive, a new career high. It's his second straight game with eight rebounds and his third straight game scoring in double figures. He has scored in double figures in 18 of 21 games this season and in 33 career games.
Sophomore Josh McRoberts recorded his second straight double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds. He added five blocks and three assists, as well. His five blocks is the second-highest total of the season and just one shy of his career high. It marks his fifth double-double of the season and seventh of his career. He now has 10 career games with double figures in rebounding and five this season. He now has five-plus blocks in three career games and his double-figure scoring performance marks his 16th of the year and 31st of his career.
Sophomore Greg Paulus scored just four points, but recorded six assists and had just one turnover in 34 minutes of action. The six assists marks tied for his second-highest total of the season and his +5 assists-to-turnovers is the second highest margin of the season.
Sophomore David McClure scored nine points and recorded three rebounds, one block and one steal in 19 minutes of action.
Freshman Lance Thomas scored 10 points and had a season-high nine rebounds. His 10 points marks his third game scoring in double figures.
Sunday marked the 254th consecutive sellout at Cameron Indoor Stadium. The last non-sellout at Cameron was Nov. 16, 1990, in a 100-76 win over Boston College.

Coach K also owns a 698-194 record at Duke, eighth most in NCAA history for wins at one school and second among active coaches. Coach K is now just two wins away from 700 in his 892 career games. The record for the fewest amount of games to win 700 games at one school is held by Kentucky's Adolph Rupp, who did it in 836 games. Second on that list is Smith, who accomplished the feat in 904 games.
