MIAMI, Fla. - The No. 7 Blue Devils squared off against No. 11 Miami in singles play and were set to face No. 12 Texas in doubles on the final day of the Miami Invitational, but action was cancelled due to rain.
The Blue Devils got in six singles matches versus the Hurricanes on Monday, and were victorious in five of them, as 54th-ranked sophomore Kiril Dimitrov, No. 84 freshman Dylan Arnould and juniors David Goulet, Ned Samuelson and Alex Stone all posted wins. No. 100 senior Joey Atas lost a tough three-set battle versus Miami's toughest competitor, Luigi D'agord (4-6, 6-2, 7-5).
Duke went 14-11 in singles play at the invitational, and 2-6 in doubles play over two days of competition, playing in matches designed to simulate regular season dual matches.
Duke's next match is set for Jan. 24, as the Blue Devils host No. 54 Old Dominion at 6 p.m.
