INDIANAPOLIS - Duke's J.J. Redick added another national player of the year trophy to his collection, Sunday being named the NABC National Player of the Year along with Gonzaga's Adam Morrison.
Redick was also named the co-Player of the Year with Morrison by the USBWA and alone won the Naismith, AP, Rupp, Sporting News, Senior CLASS Award and Basketball Times awards in the past week.
Redick led Duke to a 32-4 record, the team's seventh ACC Championship in eight seasons and the ACC regular season championship, as well. With a 26.8 points per game average, he ranked second in the NCAA and was able to set new Duke and ACC career scoring marks.
Redick becomes the fourth player to win the award and those four have won it five times. Duke now has more winners of the NABC award than any other school. Kansas and North Carolina each had three players win three times while Indiana has two players and two awards and Virginia is the only other school with multiple awards, with one player winning twice.
Redick led Duke to 116 wins in four years and set an NCAA record for for career three-pointers. He also set Duke and ACC records for career free throw percentage and is the only player in NCAA history with 450 or more free throws made while hitting over 90 percent.
