DURHAM, N.C. - Duke (20-1, 8-0) returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 4, with a home contest against Florida State (13-5, 4-4). The Blue Devils are ranked second in the latest AP and USA Today/ESPN Coaches polls, while the Seminoles are unranked.The Blue Devils are coming off an 83-81 road win against No. 15 Boston College on Wednesday.
Duke built an 18-point lead early in the second half and knocked down 10-of-14 free throws in the final two minutes to withstand a late Eagle charge. The Blue Devils finished the game 29-of-37 (78.4 percent) from the charity stripe.
J.J. Redick scored a game-high 28 points, including seven points in the final two minutes of action. The Roanoke, Va., native had a season-high five rebounds and led Duke with four assists while playing all 40 minutes.
Shelden Williams knocked down 13-of-16 free throws and finished with 21 points in the game. He led the Blue Devils with six rebounds and also blocked seven shots. Duke also received strong contributions from Josh McRoberts and Sean Dockery. McRoberts scored 14 points on 4-of-7 shooting from the field and 6-of-7 from the free throw line, and Dockery went 5-of-8 from the field and 2-of-4 from three-point distance to finish with 12 points.

- J.J. Redick is five points shy of becoming the all-time leading scorer in the 66-year history of Cameron Indoor Stadium. Redick has already scored 1,121 points in 56 career home games (20.0 ppg.). Johnny Dawkins holds the Cameron Indoor Stadium scoring record with 1,125 points in 62 home contests (18.2 ppg.).
- The Blue Devils rank first in the country in RPI (.7191) and second in strength of schedule (.6818). Baylor, who is playing only conference games this season due to NCAA sanctions, is currently first in strength of schedule. Duke is 12-1 on the year against teams ranked in the top 100 of the RPI.
- Duke is one of 10 NCAA Division I teams without a loss in conference play this season. The other conference undefeated teams are West Virginia (Big East), LSU (SEC West), George Washington (A-10), Northern Arizona (Big Sky), Memphis (CUSA), Penn (Ivy), Delaware State (MEAC), Bucknell (Patriot) and Gonzaga (WCC).
- J.J. Redick leads the ACC and is second nationally in scoring at 27.8 ppg. The Roanoke, Va., native led the league in scoring last year at 21.8 ppg. The last player to lead the ACC in scoring in back-to-back seasons was Jason Williams (2001 & 2002). Redick's points per game average is the highest single-season average in Duke history. Bob Verga averaged 26.1 ppg. as a senior during the 1966-67 season to set the Duke standard. Redick's scoring average is also the highest in the ACC since 1975 when David Thompson (N.C. State) averaged 29.9 points per game.
- The Blue Devils are shooting 40.4 percent (160-of-396) from three-point distance, while holding the opposition to an ACC-low 29.4 percent (82-of-279). On the year, J.J. Redick has as many treys (82) as the Blue Devil defense has allowed (82).
- Duke is shooting an ACC-best 51.0 percent (589-of-1154) from the field on the year. The Blue Devils last shot over 50 percent for the year during the 1998-99 season. Duke has shot over 50.0 percent from the field 12 times this season.
- Duke also leads the ACC in free throw shooting at 77.1 percent (387-of-502) and has made more free throws (387) than its opponents have attempted (319). Duke has accomplished that feat eight times (1972, 1978, 1990, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1999 & 2000). The Blue Devils are 13-0 this season when making more free throws than an opponent has attempted.
- Shelden Williams has 1,629 points, 1,080 rebounds, 366 blocked shots and 142 steals in his career. He is eight steals shy of joining Pervis Ellison (Louisville) and David Robinson (Navy) as the only players in NCAA history with at least 1,500 points, 1,000 rebounds, 350 blocks and 150 steals in a career.
- J.J. Redick (28) and Shelden Williams (21) each scored 20 or more points in Wednesday's win over Boston College. The duo has accomplished that feat nine times (9-0) this season. They have accomplished that feat 13 times in their careers, compiling a 12-1 record in such games. Redick and Williams are averaging 55.8 percent (45.8 ppg.) of Duke's scoring output (82.1 ppg.) this season.
- Since returning to the starting lineup on Jan. 26 against Virginia Tech, Josh McRoberts is averaging 10.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game. In that time span, he is shooting 61.1 percent (11-of-18) from the field and 75.0 percent (9-of-12) from the foul line. In Wednesday's win over Boston College, McRoberts had 14 points, five rebounds and two steals.
