Hey guys, its me again. Our SID Lindy Brown always does such a great of talking me into updating everyone, also while we were home (brief as it was) a lot of my family members said that they also read these blogs so shout out to all of my grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins that check in on me!
But lets see what have my teammates and I been up to. Well first off we have been gone from school for a long time. We were in Cancun for three games, then it was home, and now we are in New Hampshire for another tournament.
I'll start with Cancun and I will tell you about the amazing time that we had and all of the sun I wish I could have soaked up. Picture walking to practice past a gigantic pool full of sunbathers and a beach/ocean full of jet-skiers and parasailors, needless to say we definitely got to have our share of fun!
The first day we arrived we could not wait to get out onto the beach (in fact three members of our traveling party actually wore their swimsuits on the plane). So as soon as we had thrown down our bags in our rooms (which all had two person Jacuzzis in them) we took off. Actually I think I was the only one who actually went for a swim in the ocean, but everyone else enjoyed the sun and the pool.
The next day we had practice and we also got to go parasailing, how many people can say they did that over Christmas break! So Carrem and I partnered up as well as the Waner sisters, Brittany and Chante, and Wanisha and Lindsey. Our freshman decided that they weren't up to the heights and I believe that KJ got the best partner of all Coach G (or maybe it was Arway and Erin, team managers) but how lucky she would have been hearing how great it is to be a Blue Devil 400 feet in the air.
As I am sure you all know we were pretty successful in Cancun, we won all three games (Bowling Green, SMU, and Pittsburg) but were up against some pretty tough competition as two out of the three teams were ranked.
As soon as the third game against Pittsburgh was over we speed away to the airport and raced to catch our flights. We all made it home; however my entire family had decided to stay at the Moon Palace Resort for an extra day. So when I got home it was to an empty house.
The next day I wandered the mall. It seemed like all of Beavercreek was out shopping and it seemed like I knew every other person that walked by, which was pretty nice and I got some great presents for my brothers, sister, and parents.
One thing that really amuses me is all of the men that were out shopping (the day before Christmas Eve), wandering aimlessly through women's clothing boutiques, up to perfume counters, and warily approaching jewelry stores. My Mom's birthday is Christmas Eve so we celebrated that along with our family Christmas before heading to my grandparent's house in Terre Haute, Indiana.
Early on the 27th we all flew to Manchester, New Hampshire, where we met up amidst hugs and excitement for the bus ride to Hanover where we are now. The only notable things that have happened so far are the sleigh ride this morning which turned out to be a wagon pulled behind two (non-bobtailed) horses for a tour around the quaint city of Hanover and campus of Dartmouth, and the banquet tonight where we ate some pretty good food but sat with members of the other teams which was a little different.
Now we are in the hotel just getting ready to play Dartmouth and then the next day either Boston or Dayton, returning back to school on the 31st just in time for bring in the New Year.
