Abby Waner Named Duke Student-Athlete of the Week

DURHAM, N.C. ? Sophomore women's basketball player Abby Waner has been selected the Ronald McDonald House Charities Student-Athlete of the Week by the Duke Radio Network.
It is Waner's second such award after also winning it on Dec. 23, 2005.
Waner helped guide the fourth-ranked Blue Devils to impressive wins over no. 11 Vanderbilt, No. 19 Rutgers and No. 22 Texas by an average of 29.2 points per game. A Highlands Ranch, Colo., native, she averaged 16.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.7 steals and 2.0 assists in those games.
Waner and the Blue Devils are in the midst of final exams and will then head to Cancun, Mexico for the Caribbean Classic Dec. 19-21. Also competing in the classic are Bowling Green, SMU and Pittsburgh.
