DURHAM, N.C. - Michael Videira of the men's soccer team and Rachel-Rose Cohen of the women's soccer team have been named the Ronald McDonald House Charities Student-Athletes of the Week by the Duke Radio Network.
The two standouts are being honored together after each was named an Academic All-America this week.
Videira, a junior midfielder from Milford, Mass., has started 19 games with eight goals and six assists this year to lead the Blue Devils to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament. Videira also made the All-ACC team for the third straight year, and he was named most valuable player of the ACC Tournament for helping Duke win its second straight title.
Academically, Videira carries a 3.28 grade point average in sociology.
Cohen, a senior defender from San Diego, earned Academic All-America honors for the second consecutive season. She started every game for the Blue Devils and helped the team to nine shutouts in 21 matches. During her four-year career, Duke had 41 shutouts and 52 victories.
Cohen has a grade point average of 3.81 in biological anthropology and anatomy and has made the dean's list five times.
Cohen was named to the Acacemic All-America second team, while Videira made the third team.
