Additionally, Redick hit a pair of three-pointers against Bucknell, giving him 366 career three-pointers and moving him into a tie for ninth on the all-time NCAA list with Pat Bradley from Arkansas. Senior Shelden Williams scored 23 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, marking his fourth straight double-double and ACC-leading sixth of the season. It also marked his ACC-leading 44th career double-double and 49th career game with 10 or more rebounds. The game marked his 79th career game with at least 10 points and 21st career game with 20 or more points. Williams has reached double figures 12 times this season and it marked his eighth 20-point performance of 2005-06. Since the start of his junior season, Williams has reached double figures in scoring in 43 of 46 games.
With his eighth rebound at the 18:18 mark of the second half, Williams became the sixth Duke player and 27th ACC player to reach 1,000 career rebounds. He ended the game with 1,003 career rebounds, which is tied for fifth with Danny Ferry on Duke's career chart and tied for 24th on the ACC career chart. Immediately ahead on Duke's chart is Mike Lewis, who had 1,051 rebounds from 1966-68 while North Carolina's Mitch Kupchak resides in 23rd place on the ACC chart with 1,006 career boards.
Williams recorded two blocks in the game, giving him 330 career blocks as he stays in second place on the Duke chart and eighth on the ACC chart. Clemson's Elden Campbell is immediately ahead on the ACC chart with 334 career blocks while Mike Gminski holds the Duke record with 345 career blocks.
Williams and Redick each scored 20 points in the same game for the 10th time in their career and Duke is now 9-1 in those games.
Sean Dockery scored 10 points, grabbed a career-high eight rebounds, dished out five assists and had four steals. It marks the 12th time in his career he's reached double figures in points, including the fifth time in the last seven games for Duke. Since his 19-point performance against Virginia Tech in which he hit a 45-foot shot to win the game at the buzzer, Dockery has averaged 11.3 points per game while shooting 25-of-49 (.592) from the field and 15-of-18 (.833) from the free throw line. He has also averaged 5.0 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 3.2 steals per game in those seven games.
Josh McRoberts scored 14 points and grabbed a season and career-high tying 10 rebounds as he recorded his first career double double and reached double figures in points for the fifth time this season, including his third straight. In the last four games, McRoberts has scored 49 points, 12.3 per game, and shot 21-of-30 (.700) from the field. McRoberts added a season and career-high tying three assists and three steals to his performance.
Freshman Greg Paulus dished out seven assists against just three turnovers in the contest. In the last five games, Paulus has 38 assists and just 12 turnovers, for a 3.2 assist-to-turnover ratio while averaging 7.6 assists. On the season, Paulus is averaging 5.3 assists per game, tops in the ACC.
Senior Lee Melchionni recorded a new season high and career-high tying three steals against Bucknell. He also scored five points and grabbed three rebounds.
