CARY, N.C. -- The Duke men's cross country B squad raced to victory at the Wolfpack Invitational Saturday at the SAS Soccer Park in Cary. The Blue Devils were one of two teams in the meet and defeated Claflin with a perfect score of 15 points. Several unattached runners raced in the 27-man meet.
Sophomore Mark Buha claimed the individual title, covering the 5K course in 15:16.87 and leading a pack of Duke runners who finished in the next four scoring spots. Junior Kyle Kershner ran a 15:20.88, Alex Reinhart a 15:32.74 and Patrick Parish and Marco Salmen were less than a second apart, coming in at 15:41.91 and 15:42.64, respectively.
Buha, Kershner, Reinhart, Parish and Salmen will all represent Duke at the IC4A Cross Country Championships at New York's Van Cortlandt Park Nov. 19. The A team, coming off a fifth-place finish at the ACC Championships, is gearing up for next Saturday's Southeast Regional Championships in Greenville, N.C., in search of a bid to the NCAA Championships Nov. 21.
