Monique Currie had five points in the first four minutes as Duke opened up an early 14-4 lead by the first media timeout.
Kurz would hit a three-pointer to give Duke its first 20 point lead at 33-13 and a late first-half 15-0 run would give Duke a 55-19 lead as Duke held a 57-25 lead at the break. Harding scored nine points in the run for Duke.
Kurz scored 10 points in the final 5:30 of the game as Duke outscored
Gay finished the game with 14 points and was joined by Kurz, Harding, Mistie Williams (14 points, eight rebounds) and Chante Black (10 points, seven rebounds) as five Blue Devils reached double figure point totals.
Emily Waner and Abby Waner each added eight points and Abby Waner added five rebounds, five assists and four steals in the contest. Alison Bales pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds and added five blocks as Duke again reached double figures in both blocks and steals in the contest. Black added three blocks for Duke while Gay joined Abby Waner with four steals.
Wanisha Smith distributed the ball well, finishing the game with eight assists.

Next up for Duke is the 2005 Duke Classic Championship game where it will face
