
Stokke Advances in Consolation Round

Tulsa, Okla. - Jonathan Stokke won his singles matches on Friday to move forward in the consolation round of the Polo Ralph Lauren All-American Tennis Championships in Tulsa, Okla.
Stokke also came back from an early setback to advance to the quarterfinal round. He squared off against Florida State's Ytai Abougzir in the second round of consolations. Abougzir won the first set 6-3, but Stokke answered with a 6-3 win and then closed out the match with a narrow 7-6 (5) victory. Next up for Stokke will be a match against Alex Stovic of Washington. The two will meet at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Stovic advanced with a strong 6-1, 6-1 showing in the second round.
Joey Atas faced Strahinga Bobusic of Georgia fell in three sets. After winning 6-4 in the first set, Atas fell in the second 7-5 and in the third 6-2 to close out the set and end his tournament run. Bobusic will move on to the quarterfinal round where he will take on Todd Paul of Wake Forest at 10 a.m. Paul advanced with a 6-3, 6-3 win on Friday.
The tournament is held in Tulsa, Okla. at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center. The main draw singles and doubles will continue for the rest of the day with the championships to take place on Sunday.
