Five Blue Devils Named AP All-ACC

DURHAM, N.C. - The Associated Press released its All-Atlantic Coast Conference teams Monday, and Duke led the way with five selections named to the first, second, third and honorable mention teams. Senior Chris Duhon was placed on the first team while sophomores J.J. Redick and Shelden Williams were named to the second team. Freshman Luol Deng earned third-team honors while junior Daniel Ewing earned honorable mention status.

Duhon has led Duke to a 117-19 career record and his win total ranks third in Duke and ACC history. Duke's all-time steals leader, Duhon is a finalist for the Wooden and Rupp Player of the Year awards and the Bayer Advantage Senior Class Award, as well. Duhon is in the top three in the ACC in assists, steals and assist-to-turnover ratio.

Redick is one of the top shooters in the NCAA. He has just missed four free throws all season and leads the ACC in free throw, three-point field goal percentage and three-pointers per game. He is also among the conference leaders in points and field goal percentage.

Williams has led Duke with seven double-doubles in 2003-04. He is third on the team in scoring and in conference games, finished ranked second in reobunds. He leads the ACC and ranks in the top 10 nationally in blocks, as well.

Deng is one of the nation's top freshmen. He has earned six ACC Player of the Week honors, all in the last eight weeks. He ranks in the top five in Duke history for freshmen in scoring and rebounds and is the only player in the ACC ranked in the top 10 in scoring, rebounding, blocks and field goal percentage.

Ewing ranks among the ACC's leaders in three-pointers per game and three-point field goal percentage. He also ranks near the top in scoring and ranks second on the team in assists.

Duke, which had two more players on the teams than any other team in the ACC, earned the No. 1 seed in the ACC Tournament and will face the winner of the play-in game between Virgina and Clemson Friday at noon.
