ATHENS, GA.- The top-ranked Duke women's golf team will enter the third round of the Liz Murphey Collegiate in a position they have not been faced with in a while-trailing-as the Blue Devils are nine strokes behind Ohio State with one day remaining at the Par 72, 6,014-Yard University of Georgia Golf Club in Athens, Ga.
Duke owns a two-day total of 583 behind Ohio State (574) and Georgia (580). Rounding out the top-five includes Duke, Auburn (588) and Oklahoma State (589). The Blue Devils are the only team in the competition playing with only four golfers since their top two golfers are playing in the LPGA Kraft Nabisco.
Blue Devil freshman Brittany Lang is tied for first in the individual action as the McKinney, Texas product posted a 73 on day two and has an overall score of 139. She is tied with Ohio State's Lindsay Knowlton. Duke's other freshman, Anna Grzebien, carded a 74 and is tied for ninth after two days (145).
Junior Niloufar Aazam-Zanganeh posted Duke's best round of the day with a 70 and is tied for 20th with a total of 149 and senior Leigh Anne Hardin had a 74. The Martinsville, Ind., product is tied for 25th with a 150.
Duke is looking to continue its seven tournament win streak in the final round on Sunday. The Blue Devils will tee off beginning at 9:00 a.m.
