Chris Duhon was named a third-team All-America Tuesday by the Associated Press. Duhon, a senior point guard from Slidell, La., has averaged 10.1 points, 6.1 assists, 2.3 steals and a 2.1 assist-to-turnover ratio in 2003-04. His assist, steals and assists-to-turnover ratio are all among the leaders in the ACC and NCAA. Sophomores J.J. Redick and Shelden Williams and freshman Luol Deng were all named honorable mention AP All-America.
Deng, a freshman from London, England, and native of Sudan, is averaging 14.9 points and 6.8 rebounds per game, both second on the Blue Devils. He was the only player in the ACC to rank in the top 10 in points, rebounds, field goal percentage and blocks.
Redick, a sophomore from Roanoke, Va., leads Duke in scoring at 16.0 per game and is one of the ACC and NCAA leaders in three-pointers made (93), three-point field goal percentage (.401) and free throw percentage (.958).
Williams, a sophomore from Forest Park, Okla., leads the ACC and is among the nation's leaders in blocks at 3.1 per game, and also averages 8.6 rebounds and 12.9 points per game for Duke.
