• Duke (12-1) will face off against Auburn (9-2) in the championship of the Auburn Holiday Classic on Friday at 4:00 PM (EST) at Beard-Eaves Memorial Coliseum in Auburn, Ala. The Blue Devils posted an 89-63 victory over Rhode Island on Dec. 29, while Auburn knocked off Rhode Island, 80-41, on Dec. 30. The Tigers have won the past nine straight contests under first year head coach Nell Fortner.
• Duke and Auburn will meet for the second time in school history. The Blue Devils are coming off a 66-57 victory over 25th-ranked Auburn in the championship game of the Duke Women's Basketball Classic last season in Durham. In the game, Alana Beard led all scorers with 27 points, while Monique Currie added 14 points and 10 rebounds. Duke forced Auburn to commit 25 turnovers and held the Tigers to 36.5 shooting from the field.
• The Blue Devils own a 10-game winning streak and have won 20 straight games in the month of December. Over the last seven years, Duke owns a 42-3 record in the month of December. Duke's 10-game winning streak marks the seventh straight year the Blue Devils have won 10 or more straight contests.
• Duke shot a season-best 57.1 percent from the field on Wednesday against Rhode Island, but allowed a season-high 44.1 percent from the Rams. The Blue Devils also allowed the third-most points this season (63) and committed 22 turnovers, which was the most since Dec. 2 at Tennessee.
• A four-game road trip will conclude on Friday against Auburn. The Blue Devils will next head home for two games against Holy Cross and Virginia Tech.
• Junior Jessica Foley had a season-high 16 points against Rhode Island as she scored 14 of her 16 in the first half. She hit all three of her three-pointers in the first stanza and hit 6-of-10 field goals. Monique Currie tied a career high with five steals on the afternoon, which all came in the first half.
• Alison Bales did not start against Rhode Island due to a broken strap on her knee brace. The problem was fixed right after tip-off. Bales cannot play with a knee brace and Chante Black made her third start of the season in her place.
• Freshman Laura Kurz continued her excellent shooting against Rhode Island hitting 3-of-6 from the field and 2-of-3 from three-point land. She is shooting 57.1 percent from the field and 46.2 percent from downtown on the year. She has hit 12 of 26 from three-point land, which leads the team. Kurz has scored nine or more points in six straight contests. In the six-game stretch, she is averaging 12.0 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.8 steals, while hitting 62.5 percent of her field goals and 50.0 percent from downtown.

• Held opponents to 27.9 percent shooting from the field
• Outrebounding opponents by 12.1
• Holding opponents to 45.1 points per game, while Duke is averaging 77.6
• Won games by an average margin of 32.5 points
• The Blue Devils own a career record of 17-10 against Southeastern Conference opponents-- Alabama (0-1), Arkansas (2-1), Auburn (1-0), Florida (2-1), Georgia (2-0), Kentucky (2-0), LSU (1-1), Mississippi State (1-0), South Carolina (1-1), Tennessee (3-4) and Vanderbilt (2-1).
• Duke is currently ranked second in both the Associated Press and ESPN/USA Today/WBCA Coaches Poll.
• Jessica Foley owns 89 career three-pointers made. With her next trey she will move into tied for 10th place on Duke's all-time three-pointers made list.
• Duke owns a 3-0 record in games played on New Year's Eve. In her second year at Duke, Head Coach Gail Goestenkors notched a 69-66 victory over N.C. State; In 1989-90 Debbie Leonard led Duke to a 72-65 victory over Seton Hall; Leonard also led the Blue Devils to a 84-76 win over Clemson in 1984-85.![]()
