DURHAM, N.C. - After finishing the 2004 home slate against Virginia Tech on Sunday with a 9-3 victory, the 10th-ranked Duke women's soccer team will hit the road for a two-game road trip to conclude the regular season, beginning on Saturday at Maryland with a 7:00 p.m. start. The contest will be televised by Comcast SportsNet in the Maryland area.
The Blue Devils are currently second in the ACC with a 12-4 overall, 5-2 league mark, while the Terrapins are 6-4-3 overall, 2-4-2 in the ACC.
In the all-time series with Maryland, Duke leads 11-9-2 with the Blue Devils coming off a 1-0 victory in Durham, N.C. last season. Duke continues to rank near the top nationally in both offense and defense as the Blue Devils are ninth in shutouts per game (0.63) and fourth in goals per game (3.38).
Senior Casey McCluskey owns 15 goals this season which is tied for the lead in the ACC. She needs eight more goals to tie the Duke all-time record of 47 held by Kelly Walbert Cagle, the head coach at Virginia Tech. Sophomore Rebecca Moros is coming off tying an ACC record on Sunday with four assists and now has 11 for the season, which is second in the ACC.
After playing at Maryland on Saturday, Duke will travel to Chapel Hill, N.C. for a 7:00 p.m. match on Oct. 28 to conclude the regular season.
