WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.--Duke University tandem of Saras Arasu and Tory Zawacki advanced through the first round of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Southeast Regional on Thursday as the duo defeated Hannah Bartsch and Lucia Vojtkova of Eastern Kentucky, 8-1, in Winston-Salem, N.C.
The Blue Devil duo will next battle ninth-seeded Sara Anundsen and Jena Long of North Carolina on Friday. In the other doubles play, Lauren Archer and Clelia Deltour fell, 8-4, to Ana P. Novaes and Ana Simanca of Winthrop in the first round.
In singles action, sophomore Parker Goyer lost 7-5, 3-6, 4-6 to Sylwia Ziolkowska of East Tennessee State in the qualifying round.
