AUBURN, ALA. - Through two rounds at the NCAA Fall Preview, the top-ranked Duke women's golf team is in third place after turning in a round of 298 on Saturday at the Par 72, 6215-yard Grand National Lake Course in Auburn, Ala.
Leading the pack is Arizona with a two-day total of 581, followed by Auburn (583), Duke (585), Oklahoma (592), Oklahoma State (599), Vanderbilt (600), UCLA (600), Pepperdine (602), Southern California (606) and Ohio State (606).
On the second day, Blue Devil freshman Brittany Lang didn't have as much success as she did in her opening round on Friday as she turned in a score of 75. A McKinney, Texas product, Lang now has a total of two-under-par, 142, and sits in third place in the individual competition. After collecting seven birdies on Friday, Lang was only able to notch two birdies today.
Sophomore Liz Janangelo continued her stellar play with a one-over-par round of 73 on day two and is tied fourth (143). Anna Grzebien, a freshman from Narragansett, R.I., began her day with a birdie on hole one and went on to fire a two-over-par total of 74. Grzebien had a team-best three birdies on the day and is tied 33rd, individually, with a 151.
Virada Nirapathpongporn finished the day with a 76 as she managed to register only two birdies and is tied 23rd. Senior Leigh Anne Hardin continued to struggle as she posted a 79 and owns a two-day score of 161.
