Dahntay Jones Earns First Team All-ACC Honors

After leading a young Duke team to a 21-6 overall record and an 11-5 mark in the Atlantic Coast Conference, senior Dahntay Jones was named to The Associated Press All-ACC first team, which was released on Monday.
The 6-6 senior from Trenton, N.J., leads Duke with 17.2 points per game, ranking fifth in the ACC in scoring. He also leads the Blue Devils with 25 games scoring in double figures and 10 games with 20 or more points. Jones, who is averaging 5.3 rebounds per game and is among the conference leaders in field goal percentage, also earned All-ACC Defensive Team honors.
Jones is the 26th Duke player to earn first team All-ACC honors under head coach Mike Krzyzewski.
Duke freshman J.J. Redick and junior Chris Duhon were named to the All-ACC third team. Redick is second on the squad in scoring with 14.7 points per game and leads the Blue Devils with 79 three-point field goals, a .403 three-point field goal percentage and a .916 free throw percentage.
Duhon leads Duke with 182 assists and contributed 9.3 points and 3.2 rebounds per game. He is the ACC leader with a 2.33 assist/turnover ratio.
Redick also earned All-ACC Freshman honors and classmate Shelden Williams received All-ACC Freshman honorable mention accolades.
Unanimous selection Josh Howard of Wake Forest, Julius Hodge of N.C. State, Steve Blake of Maryland and Edward Scott of Clemson joined Jones on the All-ACC first team.
