Blue Devils Continue to Lead Liz Murphey Classic

Athens, Ga. - After Saturday's round two at the Liz Murphey
Collegiate Classic, top-ranked Duke continued to lead the pack by 11
strokes, with No. 8 Georgia in second.
The Lady Bulldogs carded a 301 on Saturday, a single shot higher than the day's best round by Vanderbilt. Georgia leads No. 9 Texas, which shot 304 on the second day, by one stroke.
The Lady Bulldogs covered the first nine holes at 2-under as a team but shot 15-over on the back side.
Duke turned in the third-best round Saturday with a 303, giving the Blue Devils a 549 heading into Sunday's final round. Vanderbilt was paced by Sarah Jacobs' 1-under round 71.
In individual competition, Randi Meadows of Texas leads the field at 1-under after two rounds (72-71). The Lady Bulldogs have three players in the top seven: Reilley Rankin in second (147), four strokes back, and Laura Henderson and Angela Jerman both in seventh (149).
Georgia gained two strokes on Duke from Friday aided by the improved play of three players. Jerman shot three strokes better than Friday to turn in a card of 73, while Summer Sirmons improved four shots to finish Saturday's round with a 78. Whitney Christie shaved off five strokes to finish Saturday with a 78 as well.
Rankin finished Saturday with a 74, one stroke higher than Friday, but improved two spots in the individual standings. Laura Henderson lost three strokes Saturday, finishing with a 76.
Sirmons is tied for 48th, while Christie is tied for 51st. Playing as individuals, Georgia's Liz Stuart and Rachel Melendez posted rounds of 80 and 89, respectively. Stuart is tied for 41st, and Melendez is 94th.
Sunday's third round will be a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
