Florida State junior forward Cindy Schofield scored at the 101:59 mark to lead the Seminoles to a 3-2 overtime victory over visiting Duke in Atlantic Coast Conference women's soccer action at the Seminole Soccer Complex Sunday afternoon.
The Blue Devils, who have lost three consecutive matches for the first time since the 1999 season, fell to 4-6 overall and 0-4 in the ACC, while the Seminoles improved to 9-3, 3-0 ACC and took over sole possesion of first place in the conference.
Freshman forward Casey McCluskey got Duke on the board first, scoring both of her team's goals in the first half. McCluskey, who has scored at least one goal in six of the Blue Devils' 10 games so far this season, leads the team with eight goals.
Duke would hold Florida State scoreless until eight minutes into the second half when sophomore midfielder Amber Tollefson connected on a pass from senior defender Heather Dyche. Less than six minutes later, freshman midfielder Camie Bybee tied the match at 2.
The Blue Devils return to action on Friday when they travel to Gainesville, Fla., to take on Florida at 7:00 p.m.
