NEW YORK, N.Y. (August 28) - Duke University women's tennis freshman, Ansley Cargill,
and former Duke great Vanessa Webb each competed in the U.S. Open on Monday.
Cargill (Atlanta, Ga.) fell 6-7, 5-7 to Dawn Buth in the main draw, while Webb won easily over Eva Bes 6-2, 6-1. Webb will take on Alena Vaskova in the next round. Webb was a four-time All-America and will be representing Canada in the upcoming Olympics. Cargill was the youngest American in the top 300 of the WTA Tour Rankings, entering the U.S. Open at No. 258.
